I'm going for Calazaghe big time I think Kessler is in over his head, but I might be wrong. I went for Taylor having not seen much or been impressed by Pavlik. Pavlik's power is deceptive, he doesn't look like he hits that hard but obviously does. I havent seen a great deal of Kessler either and in a way reminds me of pavlik, doesn't look a great boxer, doesn't look fast and his power looks overated to me. That's what I thought of Pavlik and he proved me wrong, I just hope Kessler doesn't do the same, but if he does I'll hold my hands up and say fair play. I'm not afraid to admit when I was wrong.

this is the fight that had to happen! all th others were paydays and put together! there was no ther fight for these two! but this brings me 2 which win will b better for th sports future??? i think calzaghes for the reason being he can go on after and have hopkins, pavlik, jones jnr, zsolt erdei and so on and kessler will be in a tough smw division wiv lucian bute, jeff lacy, peter manfredo, allan green, anthony mundine, the contender 3 winner, carl froch, edison mi9randa, librado andrada, jean pascal and so on and it will givea sense of n e 1 can beat any one! whereas if kessler won hed have difficulty making fights and it would spell the end of calzaghes career!!!

I not looking so much at the more and thats not conclusive either though I know Joe has faster hands as Kesslers got very good defense , whos is going to get hit the hardest , Joe punches wide and is sth paw , the best weapon against a Sth paw is a straight right hand , Kessler has a good one and is better than any opponent Cal has fought his entire career , and Joe is fighting him at 36 , Kessler is in his prime and is bigger than Joe ,, Kessler is no joke .

I am not saying Kessler is a bad fighter but I don't see him being qucik enough to catch Joe.
Joe will keep hitting Kessler all night and moving away.
As long as Joe's hands hold out I see a wide UD.
People also forget that Joe has got a good Beard on him.
              He can take a shot.

Yeah, I'd agree Kessler is the best Calzaghe has ever faced and he definitely has a great right hand. Like I said in the other thread, I believe his only chance is to knock Calzaghe out. I don't see any way he can win a decision. He'll never keep up with Joe's work rate. We'll see if Kessler can handle the pace Joe sets. Most have found it overwhelming.

It likely won't match Pavlik-Taylor for two-sided action, but it will be fought at a much higher level.

You are right about that . As nobody ever lands more than a few single shots at Kessler, let alone a long combo, I don't see how Calzaghe is going to get a point advantage either. Calzaghe has to try to get close, and settle this fight as a brawl, and that is not where he is at his absolute best, and remember, no one has ever been able to get that close to Mikkel!
No close fights, never been knocked down, never been in trouble, in his prime. Those who argue Calzaghe had bigger fights before are out of their mind.

I respect Calzaghe as #1 smw, he will be Kesslers toughest fight - maybe inc. all the future fights as well. He is fast as hell, he has timing, sometimes he has great defense , and great footwork.

Kessler IMO has Calzaghe beat on style. If I'm wrong I'll have no trouble praising Calzaghe for what must be his biggest performance ever.

                      60-40 Kessler.
