Edison Miranda vs. Jermain Taylor: Who wins and why?

I think this is a fight that should be made. Especially since they had heated exchanges in the the press conference before their fights earlier this year. aoa know the Taylor camp especially Steward believe tha Miranda is such an easy fight. So why not take it next? Edison fights in October am I correct? That means that they could hook next year in the earlier part may Jan or Feb.

Ofcourse this would be at 168 since both guys have trouble making weight. How do you see this playing out? I say Miranda is much more game than others think especially since he would be fighting at 168 where he would not be wieght drained. If they fought I think I would give the nod to Miranda. Just for the simple fact he has a great chin. He took a 7 round betaing from Pavlik and got up numerous times.

I can easily see Taylor getting caught by a bom from Miranda and going down. I think this would be an absolute war as well.

i dont think taylor can take miranda out with one shot , but i do see miranda knocking taylor out , this would be a close throwback back fight.a good in shape miranda would overpower and KO taylor

mirnada took bombs from abaraham , eastman , pavlik , and never was close to being out , only got dropped a couple of times against pavlik. taylor was out cold.

I don't think Miranda can win this fight as he will have a hard time landing on Taylor...Taylor has a great jab that can thwart Miranda and win the fight...Miranda isn't as steady or technically as good as Pavlik...Miranda doesn't have great defense (Winky, Hopkins) and will come forward like Pavlik, meaning Taylor won't have to chase him (Spinks)...meaning he can and will land...

Yeah but Jermaine may use his jab early and then totally disregard it. It a known fact after the first 2 rounds against Pavlik you didn't see his jab as normally as it should have been thrown. This why this fight is a picke em in my opinion. Both can get wild and we know Miranda can take a punch. but power shots really bother Jermaine.

i agree but i think miranda gets right hands crazy at times and taylor got hit alot with right hand against kelly granted kelly is a more accurate puncher....

Exactly Taylor is a sucker for a right hand. He just seems to invite it. It's like he has no answer for it.

JT would lose by knockout to Miranda. Problem with JT is that he has now lost his fighting identity. He tried to be a boxer-brawler with Pavlik and look what happened to him.

He tries to be a pure boxer but is too technically flawed to actually out-box anyone lol.

By the time he figures out what to do and how to fight in his fights, he's already made to look bad. His only saving grace is his athleticism, decent power and innate instinct to fight that made him a champ, but a more composed fighter who knows their strengths will always beat or give Jermaine trouble in my opinion.

Miranda is one of those guys who knows his strengths. He knows he's a brawler with power and I think even he outsmarts Taylor to fight with him and knocks him out.

I agree he is very indecisesive. In moments he'll pop the jab and then forget about it. He needs to storm his oponents. That's his best strategy because at this weight class and a little above. He has the best combination of speed and power. He just has to come out and push his oppostion in the corner and let off flurries.
