    Pavlik is an anomaly.
His punches dont appear to be nearly as explosive as they are, he looks kind of like an average white dude.
Inside the ring though, he is a beast and walks his opponents down and seems to have no problem finishing fights.

His straight right hand has an insane snap effect at the very end of it. Conventional technique states that one should shift their body weight and punch through their opponent with a right cross, but Pavlik's just seems to have whip-like effect......Taylor looked like a lifeless heap...unbelievable.

thats true but thats why I feel he assisted his own knockout, he got hit in the middle of the ring and he went to the ropes, that is ******, he did the wrong things and left the right ones in the gym, his trainer was telling him to fight smart and he didn't they prepared for a smart fight and he didn't pull threw, true Pavlik landed that good shot but Taylor could have clinched, gathered himself and came back to continue fighting. Pavlik was a beast against Taylor but it was when he was against the ropes where Pavlik was able to land those tide changing blows, blows that literally take the fight out of you..

those were the punches that landed on Jermain that put him out, one thing is to be buzzed and another is to be ROCKED, in the middle of the ring he was buzzed, there's many different moves he can make to position himself to continue but on the ropes he was ROCKED and couldn't respond at all, once againlike I have stated in every post I have made on this fight, all due respect to Kelly Pavlik but inside me I just can't help but feel Taylor could have pulled it off had he avioded a all out fight and used his finesse to bail him out of those corners.. 100

The crazy part is he didnt even look as if he put weight or leverage behind his punch. Crazy stuff, too bad thats his only weapon. The right cross.

He reminds of Foreman, picking off shots with gloves, pawing Taylor's punches, just like Foreman..
His jab is dangerous, on the inside he has some dangerous uppercuts, and an occasional left hook, all punches that can put any pro away.
He just needs to work on his defense because offensively he's pretty good..

Taylor was rocked in the center of the ring, ROCKED. I knew the fight was over after that 1-2. The way Taylor through that ******ed looking half jab in response lets you know how badly that put Taylor in trouble.

i agree with just about everything you said except one thing (and im not trying to start a fight over it...just my opinion) and that is how you said taylor could do nothing about it...

best thing for taylor would have been to not get onto the ropes/in the corner...

manny warned him early in the fight about that (because kelly takes you apart if you get to the ropes)...look at pavlik has done to his last few opponents...all fights ended either near the corner or on the ropes...he traps you in and unloads punches in bunches...

but since taylor was on the ropes best thing he could have done is take a knee immediately...

however if he was in the middle of the ring i think he would have went down will before all those punches landed...

about the 3-4th punch would have put him down...instead he got stuck in the corner eating like 7-8 of them.

but i dont want to take anything away from pavlik. he truely won and im not saying its a premature stoppage (the stoppage was 110% correct) and im not saying it was luck...pavlik was just plain smart and accurate when he got him backed into the corner...

if taylor was a better defensively (like a floyd mayweather or winky wright) it MAY (not a guarantee) have been able to survive and not take all those shots.

from round 1 it wasn't always like that, had Taylor kept it in the middle of the ring from round 1 until the end the accumilation wouldn't have been as bad, there wasn't only 1 instance where he was on the ropes, plenty of times in prior rounds he let himself get caught on those ropes and hit HARD he just had that much of a beard where he could still stand up against Pavlik, the overall accumilation though made it so that even when he was in the middle of the ring in the 7th it didn't matter because there was very little focus, fight and overall energy left..

had he not took those bombs early on in the corner and just kept it a competitive boxing match in the middle of the ring the whole time he would have had enough to survive that 7th round, the build up of punishment wouldn't have been so great. it was evident he was hurt after that 1-2 but what did he do afterwards?? go right back to the ropes which is what he was supposed to be avoiding the whole night, that directly led to his downfall, no doubt he was hurt but he could have survived it with good ring generalship and clever technique.. 100
