    Pavlik/Hopkins ?

I know alot of people don't like Hopkins, for numerous reasons. But I don't think this would be a boring fight. Pavlik isnt fast enough to make Hopkins tentitive, and Pavlik doesn't have that Wright defense that would make Hopkins get all that nasty in the ring. I'd pay to see this.

Hopkins is not tentative because of speed, he is just old and has to fight at a moderate pace. Pavlik has enough activity to beat Hopkins (at this point in his career).

Pavlik would be way too much for the old man. Same goes for Wright and the rest of the of the old guard. I'd rather see him fight the up and coming guys if he stays at 160.

Yeah. Five or six years ago, it would've been good.
It would be ****** of Hopkins to fight him now.
He has alot to lose and nothing to gain that he hasn't already had.

I think the fear of speed and power make him tentitive, took him 12 rounds just to realize Tito couldn't harm him. And he wasn't tentitive during the Wright fight, he just got frustrated and got dirty, and that was his last fight. In both Taylor fights though, he held back alot only opening up when he felt he was confident to do so.

But with Pavlik, I think he'd be able to see his punches and with Pavlik bein able to be hit and Hopkins bein a far more intelligent puncher then Taylor or Miranda...I'd pick Hopkins for this one. Would be a battle of right hands, and Hopkins right cuts air faster then Kelly's I think.

I don't know, Pavlik will always smash anyone who isn't a intelligent puncher. Both Miranda and Taylor can get smashed down the middle. Hopkins had his moments against Taylor up the middle, and Miranda has always been wild.

I'd give Wright and Hopkins a better chance against Pavlik then either Taylor or Miranda.

I think Hopkins won something like all rounds but one in the Tito fight, and started soon to put a serious hurting on Tito, so i dont know why you mention that fight for an example of Hopkins being afraid of a power puncher (and he said Tito hit hard, so i dont think he
              "realized tito couldnt harm him").

On the other hand, starting with the Joppy fight, you can see Hop started losing his ability to turn on the heat, which is perfectly consistent with his aging. This got worse and worse. As of now, he can either fight slow or fight in spurts, he cannot pull a performance like against Echols or Johnson.

Pavlik would easily KO Hopkins or Wright, the only fighter that stands a chance against Pavlik is Joe Calzaghe.

"easily KO Hopkins" is one of the funniest sequence of words I read on here
