Kelly Pavlik went down in Round 2 because...

Was it because he dropped his hands ala Winky Wright, underestimating the power of Taylor? I was watching the replay and it looked like he was smirking and about to drop his hands to show he can take it, but Taylor landed really hard shots. If that's true, he'll know never to do that again...

But anyway, cong**** to the new champ. Sick display of heart and composure...I'm sure he just made a lot of people fans. Also, ironic was at the intro walk-ins Lampley said something along the lines of boxing in NJ still living on in Pavlik post Gatti. Great analogy because it was a Gatti like courageous performance.

Yeah I thought that too. Like he slightly showboated for a sec. Next time he wont lose focus.

Pavlik is the next gatti. He is now the peoples champ. Fight hard and win by KO people love you.

All those Ohioans showing up, I think Pavlik could take over ownership of Boardwalk Hall if he wanted to. That's if Michael Katsidis doesn't beat him to it. :-D

Pavliks first loss will be if and when he moves up to 168 and fights Kessler or Calzaghe.

in the replay it seems pavlik will say a word or stick his tounge out and drop his hand(after two 2 or 3 punches from taylor) then boom a right caught him

SPot ****ing on! That's the first thing I thought when I saw the replay. He didn't realize the danger he was in. Because he got hit. Then as he was about to pose and taunt Jermaine he got caught again. A dumb move indeed but man he has some g****fruits to comeback like that.

Please don't compare Pavlik to that punching bag Gatti, when Pavlik's career is over he will be known as one of the GREATEST FIGHTERS OF ALL TIME.

i was really impressed that despite being knocked down and behind on points pavlik still didnt get discouraged and pressed forward. that showed a good amount of heart on his part. he never gave up and stuck with his game plan. taylor was doing good too but with boxing one punch can change everything.

The ref should've stopped it in the second. I was screaming at the TV "Stop it before he gets hurt" but the ref let them keep going.
