Pavlik is a righty who just comes straight at you so it gave Taylor alot more chances to land his clean punches but other then that you could still see that he was the same guy. I bet anything that if he wouldve fought Ouma or Spinks then he wouldve had the same fights that he 1st had with them. He hasnt improved since his other trainer left
Taylor should have been able to manhandle and totally control the smaller guys, with his strength, jab, punching power. They were subpar performances fo rhim

He did this in round 2, and as a result couldn't finish Pavlik off.
He does do that but in fairness to him I think he got tired in the 2nd round after he shot his load. He did a horrible job at trying to finish him and he tired himself out. I do agree about the amateur part though. I have always said that he was top 3 P4P or maybe even #1 when it comes to his combination of power & speed but other then that he doesnt know how to fight at all. He just gets by with his size and that combination of power & speed but he's way lower then any of the elite boxers when it comes to IQ or just knowing how to fight

im not..coz being aggressive is the only way to discourage pavlik..and i doubt taylors counter punching ability... its was a great plan..then ...boom...

Who is Hopkins to make this claim? He holds all the time, in all kinds of circumstances.

Other than that, I sort of see the point.

Taylor was not the same guy tonight though...he was clearly there with a chip on his shoulder. Emotionally, he was different this fight.
