Robinson's rigurous fight schedule and success rate is unmatched by any fighter from the 80's, 90's or today by far.

Beating Jake Lamotta isnt a great accomplishment, hes like a modern day Gatti.
He had little boxing skills, matched with a good chin and great heart.
Leonard would have had him finished in 4 rounds.

If the fight was a prime Leonard vs a prime SSR, Id take Leonard by wide decision even with a very possible late round stoppage.

It's not the fact that he beat LaMotta its the fact that he had already fought two 10 rounders that same month and then beat a guy that already beat him.

Hey Leonard was a great there's no denying that, I don't hate on any fighter. It's just my opinion that Robinson was better. And if you think Leonard would stop him thats fine...but me and Leonard know that would never happen lol.

And Tugger lol, there's no hate. I dont come on these forums to argue and insult, it's all about discussing and hearing others opinions.

You guys are smoking. SRL was good but he was not the best and SRR would eat his ass up. You talk about him beating Duran but he also got his ass whooped by a Duran who like you said was a LW. He also was clearly getting his ass kicked by Hearns until the late rally. If it was a 12 round fight then he wouldve easily lost. Alot of people also thought he lost to Hagler. He also never fought Pryor who was begging for the fight and the smaller man. I love SRL and he was great but he was clearly not the greatest.

He also never moved up in weight until late in his career and wasnt that good when he moved up. The other guys constantly moved up in weight and stayed good. Its no contest. He never fought a ton of guys who were bigger then him like SRR did. HIs resume is also overrated. He fought Benitez but he was also a 140 pounder who was just 21 at the time. Duran was smaller. He lost to the other bigger guys he fought besides Hearns & Hagler and you could make arguments about those fights

Dude, stop talking crazy. SRR was a legit WW constantly being outweight by 20 pounds in the ring and killing everyone from 147 to 175. Also, SRL isnt ******. He constantly talks about how he waited for Hagler to look like he was on the downside of his career and just had that brutal fight with Mugabi which you know took alot out of him. Then Hagler starts off like a Southpaw and gives SRL some early rounds. Im not ripping SRL. He's one of the all time best and I love his combination of power & speed but he's definatly not the best ever.
