That's editorial management.
Oscar de la Hoya will not arbitrarily take action on his own, obviously. He will hold meetings with [editor-in-chief] Nigel Collins concerning changes.
All this conradicts the promised hands-off policy at the time of the announced Golden Boy Promotions acquisition.
Could the new expanded asian boxing coverage be intended to help promote fighters in the Golden Boy stable and/or possibly influence their ranking?
I just don't see adding coverage as being a bad thing, or even as interfering with the editorial staff. The editors are there to decide content and, as long as DLH doesn't influence WHAT is written and WHO is written about, I have no problem with it.

Am I missing something here?
That's an editorial decision.
When you expand, don't you have to hire more writers, etc Aren't those decisions that will affect the editorial content?

WOW! The Ring To Have More Than 10 Subscribers!
For all the panty waste concerns over editorial content, when will fans wake up top the fact that The Ring (as prestegious as it is), is DYING! If Oscar can breathe life into the sport via The Ring (hopefully it's on-line impact), then it's good for all of us fans. Let the editorial corruption begin and let the forums be open to fans calling the editorial staff in it!!!
