  • My FINAL PREDICTION: Put yours in here

I make these threads so that in 5 months, when one of you guys is yammering like you knew Pavlik was gonna win all along, i can look back here and see that your FINAL prediction was actually for Taylor and call u out on it!!!!

This is so everyone keeps their word.

    MINE

Rounds 1-3: All Taylor, maybe even scores a flash KD
Rounds 4-7: Taylor and Pavlik switch off rounds in a brutal punchfest, as Pavlik assumes control by the 7th
Rounds 8,9: Brutal punchfest with Pavlik clearly getting the better of every round and exchange
Round 10: Either Pavlik forces the stoppage, or Taylor makes it back to his corner on unsteady legs and Steward does the right thing and calls it off. Maybe even Taylor does it himself, but i think he's got to much pride at this point.

This is the toughest fight of the year to predict.

I say Taylor proves too quick for Pavlik and forces him to reduce his workrate. But Pavlik has to eventually land something and after he does he domeinates the rest of the fight. Tayor though by close contestable decision. Isn't that what happens in every fight of his?

taylor will start cautiously where as pavlik will not.
i predict that once taylor starts feeling the weight of pavliks shots he will clam up and go on the defensive and be a bore!......again.
but should any of pavliks power shots poke through its nighty night to the arkansas baaaayutch!!! pavlik by early knockout. forget about it.

Both styles of each fighter suit each other well. Taylor by decision due to his experience with better competition, speed and better boxing ability.

the only ones who think pbf has a chance r the yanks.
tell ya something mate, at no point has ricky said he WILL beat floyd because he knows its a big ask but, he does possess the tools and the style to beat him and thats a fact.
also to point out that while floyd is running down rickis previous opponents, at which point did he take on the great kostya tzyu? yeah thats right he didnt and we know why! he just opted for a tussle with sharba mitchell(isnt he over the hill?) maybe.....remember what tzyu did to mitchell? and jadah?
and just one other thing, vince philips is the ONLY yank to beat tzyu in his prime and what did ricki do to philips? so we(the brits) think he has EVERY CHANCE.
P.S. will wait for your post fight comments when floyd is giving his excuses for not taking ricki seriously enough and dancing with some girl in front of the tv is all the excuse he needs! good move floyd.....ya baaayutch!

I agree. Taylor will win a UD.

Kball, I agree with your prediction on Pavlik winning, but I strongly disagree that Taylor is going to dominate the first three rounds. Pavlik is a very strong starter and I actually think he will take 2 of the first three rounds.

I am surprised that i havent seen anyone mention how low Taylor keeps his left hand. This is going to be a key factor in the fight. Pavlik's best punch is his straight right hand, and while Pavlik isnt a speedster, that right hand is going to get through a bunch of times unless Taylor keeps that hand up....which is highly doubtful. Im looking for Pavlik to win by decision or late tound stoppage.
