I say the winner of Hatton/Mayweather. They both already have big wins.

If Pavlik beats Taylor he'll be a close second though.

If Cotto could knock out Mosley I think he'd be in contention

Hmmm, I don't even know if he gets it if he kills Taylor in the ring if Hatton wins. Hatton beating Mayweather is far beyond anything that anyone else could accomplish. Beating the #1 P4P is pretty big.

The other P4P elites that are still fighting this year are:
#2 Pacquiao - but Barrera lost his first fight this year, he's out.
#3 Marquez - Rocky Juarez who?
#8 Calzaghe - Kessler has had a good year, but I don't think it is enough to be better than a win over Mayweather.
#10 Cotto - Collazo and then Cotto for Mosley isn't better than Hatton I don't think.

When Mayweather beats Hatton I would say he would have to be Fighter of the year since he beat DLH also. But, I would say Taylor-Pavlik could be a contender for fight of the year if Taylor can take his shots.

Kelly Pavlik is the Fighter of the year by far , he's 2 -0 (soon to be 3-0) this year , beat the man the middleweights were the most afraid of, that being Edison Miranda, and after he knocks out Jermain "bad decisions" Taylor he should be fighter of the year .

IMO the winner of Mayweather/Hatton will gain FOTY honors. However Pavlik is a close second.

Has to be Mayweather or Hatton, without a doubt. Pavlik has a great chance any other year than 2007, but if Hatton beats Mayweather he gets it hands down, if Mayweather beats Hatton he also gets it.
