Fight the up and comers, they were too hyped, with not enough skill.
If he fought like a man no one would really care WHO he fought, except maybe the nitpicking boxing obsessives 20 years down the road.

(Sigh) Using your defensive capabilities in the ring does not make you less of a man.

Otherwise, Winky Wright would have a camel toe.

He also has not been fighting the up and comer badasses that he should have been.

I'm not agreeing with them, but I can see why they would be upset with his choices of matchmaking.
Exactly, this is a lose lose situation, what is he getting for obliterating Barrera again, it won't help his legacy but it is helping his pockets out.

the thing is if he fought the younger opponents it wouldnt draw bigger crowd. not unlike if he fought barrera now then marquez atleast he would get alot. i myself want to see him fight soto than barerra since he beat him way back 2003 but its always the promoters decision. they decide who he fights for the money. even i think pacquiao wanted to fight soto right away when he saw soto beat the **** out of his brother. but of course there are bigger bosses than him.

Well no one can disagree that this is doing more for him in a financial sense than any other fight (except maybe Marquez), but status wise, it's not the best... but I'm certainly not going to knock him for it. I don't think he can do this again if he wins. He will have to take Marquez, who he hasn't convincingly beat yet, or a young badass like Guzman or Soto.

WELL HONESTLY I DONT REALLY SEE THE POINT WHY HE HAS TO FIGHT BARRERA. I WANTED HIM TO FIGHT SOTO OR MARQUEZ THEN GUZMAN. BUT I THINK HE WAS REALLY SUPPOSE TO FIGHT MARQUEZ BUT MARQUEZ WANTED A BIGGER POT BUT ARUM AND GBP DIDNT AGREE WITH IT. SO IN ORDER TO GET BIGGER BUCKS SINCE THERE ARE 2 PROMOTERS SHARING THEY HAD TO GO WITH BARRERA. WELL DONT WORRY IM SURE ALL THIS WILL BE FIXED BY NEXT YEAR. IF PAC WINS THIS FIGHT IN OCT 6 HE WILL SURELY GO STRAIGHT WITH MARQUEZ FIGHT.

Pacquiao probably feels like he owes Barrera something. A lot of people didn't know who Manny was before the Barrera fight. Marco gave him his first real big fight, so he feels like maybe he should give him a rematch. That's one angle that this fight could be based on.

He also kicked his ass last time... he is probably thinking it is going to be a big payday for an easy day of work.
