I remember it as clearly as if it happened today.

I'm sitting up in bed, and watching some guy named Buster Douglas pound on my beloved Mike Tyson. I couldn't believe what was happening.

And then Tyson floors him. Whew, close call. But no. Douglas is back up and gets back to whupping Mike's ass.

Mike gets KO'd. I go to sleep choking back tears.

THE NEXT MORNING, I wake up still depressed and turn on the TV and Nelson Mandela had just been released from prison. All of the South Africans were dancing in the streets. It was all too much.

    I bawled like a baby.

I laughed like a hyena at that one.

The one that got me a little misty eyed was Holmes v. Ali. **** I just got plain depressed on that one.

I'd never actually cry at the outcome of a fight, but some fights have been hard to watch. It was very hard for me to watch Meldrick Taylor, one of the most incredible offensive talents in the sport, ever, have his win taken from underneath him by Richard Steele.

It was hard for me to watch Morales battered at the hands of Pacquiao...twice.

It was hard for me to watch Pernell Whitaker give up his career in boxing for a career in coke and liquor. That and the brutal Trinidad fight.

James Toney beating on Evander Holyfield was tough. Two of my very favorites of all time.

It's always tough when someone receives a bad beating too. I usually feel rage more than sadness though. Like the Campbell/Quiles fight. Quiles' team should be burned alive for that bull****.

              No tears here

Major sadness though, when Mike lost to Buster.

I know many people were shocked and cried like hell when they lost all the money they bet on Mike.

I can remember Simon Brown running over to check on his close friend Maurice Blocker, after knocking him out. There's no denying Simon was distressed over that ending. I can still feel it.

Roy getting ko'd twice was too much to bear.

But I'm certain many folks, and especially the females were wailing with buckets of tears at the sad ending of Gatti's last two fights. Those were heart wrenching to watch.

I can't neglect to add Tito losing to Hops. The ending was sad and unexpected for most folks.

It was hard to watch Gatti at the end...no doubt.

I shed a tear when Trinidad lost to Hopkins. I even asked my girlfriend for sex after the fight to make me feel a little better. Was denied though so it was rough. I would probably shed a tear when Cotto loses his first fight too.

                    Absolutely.

Sugar Ray Leonard's sad ending in his fight against Terry Norris was another one.

But, watching 'The Atomic Bull' Mccall break down against Lennox Lewis was funny and sad at the same time.

I think some people were laughing and crying with Oliver just the same from that weird outcome.

A thing of beauty is a joy forever.

I would have paid a thousand dollars for McGirt to send Gatti back out for round 7 vs PBF.
