Cotto could sell out the Garden on any given night. Mosley while he is the bigger name and legacy, was never really a big draw

Shane is getting 53% unless it changed over night.

Edit: It might be 57% 43% and not 53% 47%

I don't agree. Shane a few years back, maybe, but Cotto is more known now and he has Puerto Rico backing him. This just goes to show that unless you're Oscar you can't rest on past accomplishments.

Yeah, I know for SURE, that someone posted around 2 months ago that the fight was being split 60-40, the 60 being for Mosley. But it's official now, honestly, I dont see the big fuss about w/e they are being paid, I concern myself with how they will perform and the good fight they will give us come Nov 10.

I understand Cotto has the larger fanbase and the title, but I look at it like this: Shane is already a FANTASTIC fighter and name in the boxing world. Have you seen what he did to guys at Lightweight? Unbelieveable. For a guy like Cotto get more money over a guy like Mosley, who has proven himself as a world class champion, is a bit ****ed. Shane has fought so many bigger calibur guys than Cotto: Vargas, Oscar, Forrest, Winky, and even though he lost the Winky and Forrest fights, he learned from them.

I understand, once again, that Cotto has the fanbase and the title, but Shane has the credibility, and to undermine his accomplishments in the ring is ****ing ******ed.

It's not that hard to figure out. I saw Miguel Cotto live at the GARDEN, you couldn't find an empty seat! They even had to open the rafters! Just try and a get a beer....you'll be waiting on line for like 1 hour.

Mosley's a great fighter but the truth is he's never been able to sell tickets for some strange reason. He's only been a draw on PPV when fighting Delahoya or Vargas..He might be also getting a peice of the PPV buys, Never the less 3 mill isnt Chump change....Just look at UFC fighters headlining ppv's making 200k. Plus if he wins the fight there will be more demand for him and he might make a bigger pay day against Mayweather.

I agree. When I was in Vegas on the weekend that Cotto was fighting Judah NOBODY knew anything about that fight and most people had never HEARD of Miguel Cotto.. They had heard of Judah - and these are VIP hotel and casino people that didn't know the name "Miguel Cotto."

This certainly has something to do with MSG and ticket sales - but as far as PPV Shane Mosley should be driving the majority of sales as well as Cotto.
