He has natural athleticism - good power, great speed, great strength. But he fights very raw and unpolished. He relies on his physical gifts more then any other fighter i have ever seen. The MW division may be weak...but I feel like Pavlik is going to bust him up.

this is a good assesment of Taylor. He seems to do just enough against the elite competition but doesnt seem to be able to reach down and impose himself over other fighters of his own caliber. He also seems to lack the power many believe he carries. Example the Ouma fight. He hit Ouma with every punch he had in his arsenal and could never really faze Ouma. Hopkins, not known for carrying a real big punch(except earlier in his career, he was wicked) would have had Ouma out of there by round 8 especially fighting as reckless as Ouma did. Jermain also just cant seem to get a rhythm going like you see many great fighters do. He also tends to cover up or just flat out stop being offensive in spots. Taylors better than good but once he moves up into the weight class he should be fighting in we'll see just how good he, that is if he makes it past Pavlik.

I think this picture says a lot... he beat Hopkins.

If he beat Hopkins once and then barely squeeked out against terrible fighters, then I might be questioning it, but...

He gave Hopkins a rematch, and beat him again.

            THEN

He made a defense against Ronald "Winky" Wright, which is a hell of a tall order.

He has had a couple of bad performances since, but, I don't know why no one is giving him a pass on that.

Ricky Hatton's two fights before Castillo were bad, but they didn't take him of the P4P list or say that he sucks.
