    No

I don't know too much about Pavlik, but I hope that the people that are so high on him, aren't so hight on him only because he beat Miranda... Because Miranda ain't nothing special... He lost against Abraham (I really can't understand, how people think he won against Abraham, yes he broke his jaw, but that's all... Abraham even with a broken jaw hurt him twice, and the only time where Miranda hurt him was, when he low blowed him, or headbutted him... so I really can't tell... and if he was something like MiniTyson... no way, do you think that somebody with a broken jaw, could stand up to Tyson for 8 Round???)

I think PAvlik is a good fighter, because even so Miranda is limited, he has heart, he can take a shot, and he come's forward, so it ain't easy to handle, and Pavlik did... but JT is no Miranda!!! JT made some bad decisions, against opponents that nobody would look good... but you shouldn't forget that he beat Hopkins... and I think it showed his class, there are not many people who beat him, and I think if Jermain Taylor would have had more experience, he would have beaten him clear... I mean Winky is not that big, but he is not a dum fighter, and even someone like him, got soaked in by Hopkins... it ain't easy to beat someone like Hopkins!!!

Taylor got Power too, and if someone comes to him, he brings it like against Winky... so Kelly Pavlik really has to be the real deal, if he ain't, and I think he ain't, he's gonna get a beating

Taylor should love that type of fighting because he love to shuffle back and jab then counter with right hands but the key to it is not to get stuck on the ropes because that would be suicide against Pavlik. Whoever can take the punches the best will win this fight remember the famous quote everyone has a plan until they get hit. Jermaine doesn't like to get hit so once he taste leather hes going to come at Pavlik hard. Pavlik loves to get hit even in the Miranda fight he was punch drunk he just was in great condition and Miranda wasn't which is why he came in and had to weighin twice. I predict a Taylor win wouldn't be suprise if he ko's the overhyped Pavlik a guy he already beat and with that on his side knowing he already beat a guy is going to boost his confidence even more and Pavlik's less because he faced against the truth and he knows it that why he's training harder than he ever has.

        Good post here.

But remember when Taylor beat Pavlik Kelly was 17, Jermain was like 21; that's a different story.

Also, Pavlik has a point when he says no one wanted Miranda. Miranda was WAAAAY MORE hyped on here than Pavlik is now, AND TAYLOR DIDN'T WANT ANY

I am sickened to hear these ignorant comments from WLAD's trainer Emmanuel Steward, he should know by now that WHITE fighters should never be underestimated.
Racist? I really don't think so. It's more like the raw and not so pretty truth. Unless the fighter is a popular Mexican fighter, the majority of fight fans who show up to watch are White. The majority of fighters ARE NOT White, so it is only natural for the few good White fighters to receive a lot of hype and a strong following.

I think from a marketing stand point it is much easier to market a promising White fighter in America than any other race.

As touching Pavlik's boxing abilities, I do feel he is a bit overrated and Lou and Emmanuel are accurate in what they have said about him. Pavlik is going to do just what they are expecting. Aside from good punching power, not much else can be said about him that he does great. He's a pressure fighter that is slow as molasses, very little foot work, little head movement, suspect defense, predictable, straight up and down with no special effects.

Either Pavlik wins by knockout or doesn't win this fight. That's being blunt but it's the blunt truth.

And for this to happen I think Taylor would have to have an off night defensively.

I think pointing out that Pavlik was 17 when he got beat by Taylor who was 21 is a pretty important piece of information. Taylor also had more experience at that point.

Even more interesting is that Taylor won on the scorecards in that bout... hmmmm. If he couldn't knock him out when he was 17 and had the distinct advantage, what do you say the chances are now ?

I think if anyone is putting any weight into the "he beat him before" concept they might just be as surprised as Jermain Taylor is going to be when he realizes he believes in ghosts.

Here we go again!!! This fight is another repeat of the Calzaghe vs Jeff Lacy fight. No one gave Calzaghe a chance against the over rated Lacy and I see the same thing happening here. Taylor will be hit finally by a real middleweight and be overwhelmed when he trys bull rush him. Taylor IS a protected fighter for a reason and it's not surprising that his camp has been feeding the media with all the problems poor Taylor is having making the middleweight weight limit. They're already lining the excuses up. Taylor's only chance is to rely on his secret weapon like he has in his past few fights and that is the scoring manipulation he gets because he is the HBO cash cow. I see him getting hit over and over again with no comments from the HBO commentators while they'll flail all over themselves everytime Taylor throws a punch in hopes of again convincing the public their guy won. I for one hope Taylor gets his block knocked off but then again Pavlik will probally be disqualifed for hitting ABOVE the belt

Wow. Now I know that the diabloical Lou D. must try to increase Jermain's shaky confidence but, damn, that took alot of balls to say Lou-lou.

I would say that Taylor's record is very deceiving because someone who does not know better might actually believe that he too, is undefeated. The real boxing fans know the truth of course.

And uh, Jermain has not been matched carefully with all those guys moving up in weight? Isn't this the same paper champion that was going to fight Sergio Mora for the middleweight title? Ha ha ha.

One more week, one more week...

And now the time is here and Pavlik is the new champion! Ha ha mother ****ers!
