Pavlik Out For Respect in Taylor Bout

Undefeated Kelly Pavlik (31-0, 28KOs) punched his way to the top and only WBC/WBO middleweight Jermain Taylor (27-0-1, 17KOs) stands in his way of being recognized as one of the best fighters in the sport. Pavlik challenges Taylor for his titles on September 29 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. HBO will televise. [details]

This should be Jermaine Taylor easiest fight, and ko to come I know it's a bold statement but if you look at his previous 5 fights all where either smaller, faster, southpaw, slick, elusive, and some tricky. But Pavlik is going to come straight at Taylor because thats the only way that he knows how to fight. Taylor should love that type of fighting because he love to shuffle back and jab then counter with right hands but the key to it is not to get stuck on the ropes because that would be suicide against Pavlik. Whoever can take the punches the best will win this fight remember the famous quote everyone has a plan until they get hit. Jermaine doesn't like to get hit so once he taste leather hes going to come at Pavlik hard. Pavlik loves to get hit even in the Miranda fight he was punch drunk he just was in great condition and Miranda wasn't which is why he came in and had to weighin twice. I predict a Taylor win wouldn't be suprise if he ko's the overhyped Pavlik a guy he already beat and with that on his side knowing he already beat a guy is going to boost his confidence even more and Pavlik's less because he faced against the truth and he knows it that why he's training harder than he ever has.

**** this had such a misleading title. I read "Pavlik out" and probably yelled "what the ****!!", but then read the rest of the title.

We'll I jumped the gun basically. I was scrolling down the page not really focused on each title and read "Pavlik out for.." I immediately yelled "What the ****?!" and clicked it open only to realize that I should have read the title better.

"Taylor and DiBella also felt that Pavlik's record was misleading and being overblown by the experts, stating that he was carefully matched by his promoter, Top Rank."

Wow. Now I know that the diabloical Lou D. must try to increase Jermain's shaky confidence but, damn, that took alot of balls to say Lou-lou.

I would say that Taylor's record is very deceiving because someone who does not know better might actually believe that he too, is undefeated. The real boxing fans know the truth of course.

And uh, Jermain has not been matched carefully with all those guys moving up in weight? Isn't this the same paper champion that was going to fight Sergio Mora for the middleweight title? Ha ha ha.

I like the fact that Pavlik is standing up for himself from those rascist comments from Lou Dibella and Emmanuel Steward. Once the bigger, stronger,TOUGHER,and more technical Pavlik wins the haters will finally respect him. I am sickened to hear these ignorant comments from WLAD's trainer Emmanuel Steward, he should know by now that WHITE fighters should never be underestimated.

I see Pavlik had ko over Grady Brewer a year before Taylor beat him by decision. So Pavlik fans have a good argument but besides that Taylor has fought the better competition not only big names but also just better fighters period Pavlik fought Anthony Ivory 28-66 and didn't even ko him, and a guy that had 2-32 losses, but taylor has never fought a guy that had over 10 losses and Pavlik has fought more than i can count on both hands.

Pavlik's hand speed isn't too phenomenal... my only question is after Taylor gets hit (and he will eventually) will he lose his cool or recollect himself and continue to work the jab and easily out point and eventually knock out Pavlik. I'm intrigued by this fight moreso than any fight in recent years.
