De La Hoya: "Hatton Will Surprise Mayweather"

Hatton rests during all the incessant clinching and in actuality fights in spurts rather than this perceived constant attack. If you want to see a truly intense and demmanding fighting style, I think Michael Katsidis is where it's at. True Hatton is constantly COMING AT YOU, but he is not necessarily attacking the whole time and I would say 50 percent of his attack consists of the energy-sapping 'tussling' that he does in the clinch. On a cardio-vascular plane, there is no way that Hatton even comes close to Mayweather. Mayweather is a track star who flows around the ring like an effortless spring which requires much more stamina than just coming forward all night long."Hatton is well conditioned but Mayweather is the best conditioned fighter in the game, no one can deny this."
Mike, I can deny this. Hatton may have had an off night against Collazo. But, generally speaking Hatton's stamina is absolutely fantastic and it results in a certain primal relentlessness. This issue of conditioning is important, I just don't see how Mayweather could be in better condition than Hatton in this fight. I don't see it. I cannot agree with it.Comment

^Good point. Oscar needs to worry about his recent scandal more than Mayweather losing. There's a better chance that those pictures are real than the chance that Floyd will lose.

Great example. THAT IS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. Did you see when Corrales tried to tie Mayweather up but Floyd just broke off and fed Chico some right hand goodness? This will happen often in December IMO.Comment
