If Hatton is concerend about his legacy, he will have to defeat the top American fighters.

Please consider this: what if (IF) hatton loses to PBF? Then it will be argued that he did not look good or lost whenever he faced a fresh fighter. Hatton has legitimate wins over Tszyu and castillo. No doubt. But nobody (knowledgeable) will argue that their best days were behind them.

And then hatton looked less-than-impressive vs Collazo and Urango. Who sound like a Bolivian accounting firm, but are actually fighters in their prime. A loss to mayweather would cement that perception.

So I think it benefits hatton to continue to toil vs the Americans. One BIG advantage that Ricky has is that Junior Witter is a REAL opponent, and RH/JW can get that done in England. And nobody can criticize that fight.

Personally, I can't respect Joe calzaghe's career. Yet. The top fighters in the world from 160-175 over the past decade have been Jones, Hopkins, tarver, toney, Johnson, Taylor, Wright, etc....and Joe CalSlappy has not faced a single one of those guys.

Bro, no offense, but Hatton didn't look great against Collazo but he did beat him and it wasn't a robbery (although it was a close fight). Hatton won that fight even though he looked crappy he still got it done.

And he took apart Urango, and won at least 10 rounds. He didn't look bad at all, just couldn't knock him out. And we all know Castillo looked like he lost a step but he disposed of him how he should of. And made him QUIT!

Well if you had scored the rounds correctly you would not have arrived at that conclusion.

I live in Canada, it would have been a bit of a trek. Had I still been in Manchester I may have made the trek to Albert Square.

I didn't score for mugging and dry humping hence Hatton not winning on my card. You saw the difference between Collazo's face and Hatton's post fight right? And Collazo is not known as a devestating puncher.

Now as for the article Hatton's not the only fighter who's ever done this and he won't be the last either. Does it go against his populist image? Yeah kind of. Big deal though.
