I was on another thread and some dude said pavlik would beat winky wright. I honestly think the dude is on crack. Can yall give me some of your opinions on how pavlik would do against winky wright.

That's me your referring to and Pavlik would cut through Winky Wright alot easier than you expect, probably would be an easier fight than Taylor.

I dont care how well Wright covers up with the phalanx defense, Kelly Pavlik would overwhelm the hell out of him. Wright is not going to keep Kelly Pavlik at bay with that jab in any concievable way. If he moved better and then jabbed he'd have a better chance but as he stands there flatfooted no f**king way. He'd get annihlated, whether he stays in a shell and gets the hell beat out of him or opens up and tries to fight back he has no chance. He'd get hurt.

That is a TERRIBLE style matchup for Winky Wright.

If the Person said Pavlik is a better fighter then Wright, then that guys an idiot (at least of right now, maybe Pavlik becomes a better fighter then wright later on, who knows). Wrights the more talented fighter.

Can I ask you a question. Were you a pavlik fan before or after he beat miranda. Its funny because no one on this forum even talked about pavlik prior to his fight with miranda. Now since he beat miranda which by the way was not 100 percent physically he is the next big thing. I honestly think pavlik is getting hyped too much. Well lets see how he does against taylor. If he beats him he'll get alot of respect from me. If not he would be considered nothing but hype.

I mean yeah pavlik has the ability to probably break his defense a couple times. But saying he would crush him is going too far. I mean you make it sound like winky is a bum or something. His lost against hop was like his first lost in almost 10 years. Come on man you can't be serious. Yeah a person can have all the power in the world but intelligence and experience can win against that. think about lacy and calzaghe. everybody was giving lacy the edge cause of his power or what not. look what happened. the man got schooled for 12 rounds. I think pavlik will lose by a split decision.

I wouldn't even factor the size advantage. Because Wink showed his heart by going up to lightheavy to **** with Hopkins who is stronger than Pavlik. So I think we could eliminate that as a factor.

And how is Pavliks style terrible for Wright. Pavlik likes to throw big shots. Winky defensive shell invites a fighter with activity And he is the best at smothering your shots without taking much punishment. He would definitely jab beuase Pavlik won't be able to off set it like Hopkins did by fighting inside.

The only way to stop it is by tying Pavlik doesn't fight like Hopkins.

good question. i would have to say that winky would win a decision against pavlik. winky is too smart and too experienced. i tihnk winky would get hurt in the fight but would pull out the decision...

Good post. It seems that Winky is invulnerable to being knocked out. But, Pavlik is very efficient in taking out a man that's hurt. I think the problem is that Pavlik has yet to be established as brand name. If Pavlik knocks out Taylor, then all that will change.
