ET has just received a new statement from BERTRAM FIELDS, attorney for OSCAR DE LA HOYA regarding photos that appear to depict the boxer in a brown wig, fishnet bodysuit and high heels:

"Oscar does know the woman who we believe is selling these photographs to the tabloid media. But he assures me that the photos are phony. He has asked me to pursue his legal remedies. Because we are contemplating legal action, Oscar will make no further comment at this time."

X17online -- the photo agency that first distributed the photos -- only claims that the person depicted in the photographs "appears to be" the boxing champ.

Its very possible, probably certain that Oscar messed with this girl. Claiming he cheated on his wife is too easy. He's been rumored to do this before, and most top athletes period are known to cheat on their wives. By altering the pictures to make him look like a cross dresser, it creates a media story that could harm his image. This makes her more money. Even if it's fake, its a smart move.

And it wouldn't surprise me at all is Oscar did this. Its the fact that he was foolish enough to let people take pictures of it that is suspect. He had to have been hammered.
