    Attn: Lennox Lewis~Comeback?

Who believes that Lennox "The Lion" Lewis could still contend for a title in today's Hevyweight Division???... At the advanced age of 42, I truly believe that he could give everyone from Ruslan Chagaev to Wladimir Klitschko a fierce fight... So, in all honesty, could Lennox Lewis make a successful comeback in 2008???...

Probably, especially if Maskaev beats Peter, then that would be a good starting point, which would also break the record for the oldest total age of a world championship fight.

    OR

Even better, if Holyfield beats Ibragimov, then the two fighters ages would be something ridiculous like 87.

    Word.

      Att: NO.

      He's not hungry anymore.
Lewis is happy agreeing with everyone on HBO. Why risk his legacy in a comeback fight. He doesn't have anything left to prove.

He could prove how diminished the division is...

          That's true.

But, the guy's 42 years old, got **** loads of money. I guess from his point of view why would be want to?
That's one of the things I like about Lewis he knew when to Retire and that was while he was a head. Holyfield still fighting just shows how poor the HW division is.

True... but Lewis never seemed to garner the exposure his talents deserved... If he made a comeback and won a title, he would certainly gain his long deserved respect and fame by capturing a belt at 42 years old...

And if he didn't capture the belt and got beaten by one of the Klit bros, that would effect his legacy a little. I think Lewis got the exposure his talents deserved through out his career. I mean the guy was no Ali.

He could prove how diminished the division is

enough of this ****. the division is not that ****in' bad! there could be a couple more top guys, but then people would still say the same **** anyways.

buddy, why don't you watch boxing for another 20 years or so before you make a statement about what is diminished and what isn't.

now, about the thought that lewis may be able to still win fights.......

i do think lewis could win a majority of fights out there if he was in the very top shape he could be in and had over 100 rounds of sparring before a fight.

sam peter would give him some trouble and wladimir would beat/punish him. vitali, if healthy, would do the same. other than those three, he has a decent chance i feel. now, if byrd was in top shape and sharpened his game again, that could be a fun(or rather interesting) fight since they really should have fought already.

I mean the guy was no Ali.
don't believe the hype. ali was great. among the really great heavies, but can we stop acting like there is such thing as the greatest of all time - in any sport?
