Why is Hatton so much more popular than Lennox, Hamed, Bruno, etc?

See my reply on page 1.

Bruno was a ****ing cartoon charcter, always doing "comedy" adverts for **** on the telly, and acting all dumb and goofy on TV. But the hardcore boxing fans who would travel to America were not fooled by him. He had no edge, never struckk me as a fighter, just a court jester. People found him adorable and cute, he never garnered any real respect as a dangerous harcore boxer.

Surprised no ones mentioned Sir Henry, may not be as popular now but should demand respect for his achievements to British boxing.

Nobody really knows who Ricky Hatton is in Britain outside of Manchester and outside of hardcore boxing followers

It's nothing compared to Eubank and Bruno
Bruno was a ****. A ****ing cartoon character. He should have stuck to his HP adverts and Pantomimes. Damn he used to piss me off.

He was only a national hero cos he was a ****ing clown.

              My granny liked him though.
Thats the point, it wasn't really about boxing with Bruno it was more about his 'image'.

He may have been a clown agreed but he did win a Heavyweight belt so.....

                  So you did.

I wonder if he'll be doing those cold/flu jab adverts again this year?

Bruno and Eubank both boxed on terrestrial television so their audience was always that much bigger. Eubank was pretty much hated for his weird antics and his arrogance, and Bruno, like many have mentioned, was the nearly man joke figure....lovable but not rated by serious boxing fans.

If Hattons bouts had mainly taken place on ITV/BBC, his popularity would have dwarfed anything seen by any of the aforementioned names.

Even without that advantage Hatton has a massive following.
