I would never pick a basketball player cause I've seen them fight and they look worse than soccer players, now that's saying something. If any sport we should consider about making a switch to boxing it should be HOCKEY. Yeah I know it's sort of dead in the U.S. but they have some good fighters. I think Tie Domi in his prime at Cruiser or light-heavy could've been ok. KInd of like a next Diaconu kind of guy

Sportsman train for years to be boxers.. how do you take a random athlete and say he'd be a good boxer?

Also "the 600 pound brawl"? WTF? I think they'd come up with something a lot more original, like The Clash of the Titans, or Ramble of the giants, or some other ****

            you sure about that

they still looked bad doing it. the most impressive I've seen was chris childs with the one two on Kobe. that';s probably the cleanest combo in NBA for the past 50 years. The exception doesn't make the rule though. Watch HOCKEY and then you'll know what fighting is about.

no, you cant compare hockey and basketball fights
because in hockey they just let you fight till one falls
but in basketball they break it up right away
if they let the players in the NBA fight untill one gets knocked down
then the fights would be much better... you cant argue with that

You're right. Every basketball player I've seen throw a punch, they've thrown it like *******...some weak, arm type punches. For an athlete of their calibre, that's pretty sad I would say.

I'd actually go with a tennis player to make a good boxer. That sport is demmanding as hell athletically and tennis players would be right at home with the side to side movement and would be able to avoid punches with good reflexes. A guy like Pete Sampras (if he wasn't such a nice guy) would actually be a heavyweight or a cruiser. He kinda reminds me of Rocky Marciano facially lol...maybe he'd have a smashing right hand??
