This fight needs to be made ASAP in early 2008 since Klitschko is out until then and Chagaev just pulled out of his unification bout with Sultan. These are the two best heavyweights in the world with WLAD being the recognized champ and Chagaev being the only guy who has a chance against my boy WLAD. This fight worries me a little bit for Klitschko because the last power punching southpaw he faced was Corrie Sanders and we all know what happened there. Ruslan Chagaev is an improved version of Corrie Sanders and he is just as powerful, he is also a great boxer(he had a great amatuer record and he defeated the legendary Felix Savon). I think WLAD can pull it out if he fights extremely cautious and batters Chagaev with the jab all night with occasional right hands and left hooks. This may be the only fighter in the heavyweight division along with Sam Peter that Klitschko cannot TKO/KO.

I dont think Chagaev has a big chance of beating Wlad, but he is definately the BEST opponent for Wladimir, and I would love for this fight to be made. I think other fighters have better chances of actually beating him than Chagaev

in Wlad's defense, none of that is his fault. hes been stuck having to take care of lousy mandatories, hes been trying his best for unification bouts.

and sadly enough, even if Wlad was to beat Chagaev, he would not get Champion status by RING magazine. although actually I take that back...that could change after the Sam Peter-Oleg Maskaev bout. but as of now, no.
