This is a lose/lose, Oscar wouldn't get any props for beating Shane, and Shane sure as hell wouldn't get any props for doing it again. It's hard to imagine this fight even effecting any of their standings signifigantly in the WW division.
Why do I even want to see a fight between two guys who spent the whole Spring, 2007 jerking each other off on 24/7?

They just need to move to Vermont and get married. They talk about how they are such good friends and Shane goes to PR to spar for free. They both have feminine mannerisms. These dudes are getting suspect. For real.

Oscar better stop thinking. Shane would dominate his ass IMO.

Fighting Oscar De La Hoya is like hitting the Jackpot, only it hits you back.

Boxing needs to take that next step into the future and to stop suckling on the Tyson/Delahoya teat.

Our sport does a ****ty job of developing new stars.

PBF and Hatton are now fighting for big bucks. SSM and Cotto and fighting for smaller, but still good, purses.

The winners of those two fights need to match up in late spring. Period. Not vs. Oscar. That would be a step into the past.

You hit it right on the head, I could'nt say it better myself. I wish boxer's felt like that, do something for the boxing fans not for your pockets everytime.

Fundamentally, anyone would have to agree with this.

There's no way I want to see two guys who have been in business together and intimate friendship for years and years getting into another "bout."

The situation with Hopkins already makes me uncomfortable..

I don't need to see another someone taking a knee, or laying down, pounding their fists in mock frustration again from a phantom body shot.

I would assume everything is on the up and up - but Oscar would be pushing it with this one.

Too much funny stuff has been floating around the situation to make me comfortable with De La Hoya vs. Mosley III.

I wouldn't be surprised one tiny bit to one day find out De La Hoya has pre-fight agreements with guys to do certain things.

Oscar has his fingerprints and dictatorial powers ALL over anything he gets involved with.. It's starting to give me the creeps.

the problem is, for the mainstream fan, dlh is still a star.. eventhough i agree, its time he retires, we cant neglect, what he offers boxing. eventhough i dislike the loser, he still isnt so bad a fighter, that its bad for boxing.

he brings hell of a lot more to the table than most other guys in the sport. he would be competitive at 147-154 with everyone mentioned, cotto, mosley, hatton and so on.

what we have are posters, who name a couple of fighters, who should fight.
the problem is, that its only possible to name FEW ..

its not not only the money you earn from dlh, its also the fame to your name afterwards. all the pr, your fight recieves, such a fight and a win, would make your name known worldwide. imagine cotto beating him, that would make cotto boxing biggest attraction. only beating mayweather would do the same, and that says alot, about the attention, the bonafide loser recieves ;-)

you could easely make a case for giving dlh one last go, but likewise do the opposite.

personally i would like to see him get beaten a couple times again. just for fun.
