Kelly Pavlic knocks out Jermain Taylor?

If Ricky Hatton comes in bright eyed and bushy tailed with a hard on, then his bout with Pretty Boy Floyd lines up as great. But, will a fight break out? That depends on matters discussed here before. On the other hand, the Kelly Pavlik-Jermain Taylor fight is guaranteed to spill over into the stands.

Kelly Pavlik is a fighting force of nature. He reminds me of a Joe Calzaghe with devastating punching power (not running down Joe Cal here, just telling it like it is). He also has a good chin. If you want to discuss possible upsets, this is the one, assuming Pavlik goes off as the underdog at fight time.

Jermain Taylor, a genuine good guy, is in his prime and can hit real hard. But, his two decisions over the ancient Bernard Hopkins were too close for comfort. Even though B Hop is still a formidable fighter, Taylor's reputation and record suggested that he should have won those fights on young legs going away. He wasn't even close. In fact, in my opinion his lost one of those fights.

Neither Taylor nor Pavlik is the best defensively, so expect offensive fireworks and blood shed. This brings me to Taylor's chin, which has not been tested. It will in this fight. Jermain Taylor is going to get hit like he never has before and I'm not convinced he will survive it (rhetorically speaking).

This fight reminds me of Joe Calzaghe v. Jeff Lacy. Pick Pavlik for a KO/TKO upset.

    other notable past picks:

Calzaghe over Lacy; Pacquiao over Barrera; Hatton over Castillo; Mayweather over Baldomir; Pacquiao over Morales II; Rafael Marquez over Israel Vasquez I; Israel Vasquez over Rafeal Marquez II; Antonio Tarver over R. Jones Jr. by knockout; and all time greatest prediction: Holyfield over Tyson I by knockout. Average: 100%.

What does Pavlik have in common with Calzaghe? Their styles don't look similar to me

Why don't you post up the predictions you've had wrong?

It'd be a far lower average.

the odds on this fight suck, they're both in the minus category.

regardless, I hope Pavlik just beats the **** out of Jermaine Taylor from the opening bell until about the 9th round. I wonder if Jermaine will stand and fight and fight or just find a way to lay down in about round 4 after getting hit with a few power punches.

I don't know anyone who has lower than a 100% average on their notable past picks.

the only thing pavlik and calzaghe share is their skin color.

They both are aggressive and relentless and can take punishment.
