The fighters are their best (only?) asset.

What does it benefit the UFC to permanently damage their main (sole?) asset?

It takes 12 months to rehab a ligament tear. Cartilage damage is permanent. On a certain (fundamental) level it makes sense to protect the fighters so you can get them back in the ring a few months later.

      Get it?

Yeah I think he would lose too.

            But Oscar won't fight him.

Oscar is at the end of his career anyways he should just fight Cotto at 147 and then Hatton, then he should retire.

I hope he helps eliminate the sanctioning bodies and ****** alphabet soup belts.

Oscar closed a deal to buy Ring magazine

He's won titles in six weight classes, shared the ring with some of the best fighters of his generation, and in his time off runs Golden Boy Enterprises. Oscar De La Hoya is also the proud owner of the venerable Ring magazine, a magazine he promises not to influence editorially, writes Dan Rafael.

Well, it's like Teddy Brenner said. "If Ring Magazine is the Bible of Boxing, then it needs a new testament."

I like Oscar a lot, and maybe he believes he is telling the truth when he says he will have no editorial control over the magazine's content. But the fact is this is a conflict of interest and the writers will naturally be swayed by who is in control of the magazine.

yeah i'm with you on that bro. As much of a nice guy as oscar is, ring should totally remain independent of any fighters finances.
