When Hatton beat Tszyu I was like DAMN. But he's lost a lot of that hype lately.
Pacman beating Barrera down was a big one also.
People like to discredit that Hatton win because he did hold a lot in the fight but that's exactly the blueprint to fight Zoo. What really put Hatton on the map was his fight against Magee...he looked great in boxing and knocking him out.
Toney going toe to toe with Iran Barkley, a hard punching pressure fighter in his second fight at 168. I've never seen a fighter more in the zone in my life. He was slipping every punch, and popping off hard combinations with speed that makes Joe Calzaghe look like Carlos Baldomir.
If I said Mayweather brutalizing Gatti would I be to obvious. I mean after that demolishment none of the top names at 140 would be around the same ring as him, let alone fight him.
Not too obvious, but this isn't an ultra-elite performance b/c of the quality of opposition. **** De La Hoya had already destroyed Gatti, Baldomir and Gomez did soon after. It's Gatti, can't make much of that, though Floyd was in form that night.
I'll go with Frazier in the first Ali fight; could take Duran over Leonard (or Barkley, consider size differential); Tyson over Spinks; recently Calzaghe over Lacy but this is still a little more suspect.
To have a great performance requires great opposition
I know this might not count as a boxing performanc but you have to admit that Jones got his ass KO. I was like damn " DUDE GOT HIS ASS KNOCK THE **** OUT"
