Also to get 20million a fight,it would have to be a MEGA fight everytime he fights, and uhhh right now. He's not no DLH with the ppl. Alot of ppl dont find him exciting as a fighter, you gotta have something about you,ON YOUR OWN to make money like that.He had the help of the MegaStar DLH to boost his money count.
    He has..
    Hatton..
Cotto/Mosley (Probably both if it's a close fight)..
    De La Hoya II..
    Trinidad (Possibly)..
    Jermaine Taylor/Pavlik (Perhaps both)..
Paul Williams (If he's built up right)..

There are other fighters who could be built up properly by the time he knocks off a few of these guys. Not to mention, rematches with a coule of these guys. I'm not saying it's happening again. But if he beats three or four of those guys listed (DEF. not out of the question) People will pay to see him fight, just because he'd STILL be undefeated. This REALLY isn't that big of a stretch. He's pretty capable of these things happening.

Who knows though, we'll wait and see.

These are all big fights. I'm not syaing he will. But.. Mayweather is more skilled than Tyson was, so he has more time on his hands. Plus, he's still fairly young. Not saying he will, I'm just saying.
Floyd isn't gonna make 20 million dollars unless Oscar brings it. Oscar is the only one that makes that type of money and had it not been for Oscar's name on that fight Floyd wouldn't have made close to that. What is he gonna do try and fight Oscar for the rest of his career? Oscar won't fight him again there is no reason too. Oscar and trinidad never ematched because they could not agree on the terms and the same will happen with Floyd. Oscaris not gonna take a back seat when he is drawing all the revenue and no matter if Floyd already won , Oscar will still be the attraction.

This Hatton fight is bringing Mayweather close to 20 if not, 20 million, including gate, PPV and contract rights.

I'm not sure on the number for this fight, but don't act like he is drawing it himself. Honestly Hatton is by far the more popular fighter in this fight and that is where a lot of the money is gonna be generated. Hell dude had over 9,000 people come from London for the castillo fight, Floyd can barely have americans come watch him here. Not to mention the TV ratings that hatton is gonna add from England. Oscar would do that fighing a cab driver on his own.

Well, neither of us can say who's drawing the money. All I CAN say is Hatton isn't getting what Mayweather is getting. We'll see who's the draw in their next fights. All there really is to it.

i agree i think race has lot to do with it, some ppl dont wanna see a black man with money like that..they like to keep a brotha down
Whoa whoa whoa, simmer down son. One of the richest and most beloved women in America is Oprah Winfrey. The best (and richest) golfer is Tiger Woods. The most successful American athlete is Michael Jordan. The Secretary of State is black, and it seems a strong possibility you're going to have a black president next. Some people don't like the way Floyd fights, turning that into a race issue is a gigantic leap of faith.

floyd the first black athlete to make it big in boxing..i mean MONEY wise no body is getting paid like he is
Yeah he's being paid almost as much as that honky Mike Tyson... Honestly man, you're showing your (young) age here, there have been many black boxers who have been paid extremely well for fighting. Tyson is the obvous example who, as has been pointed out, made $300 million (and adjust that for inflation you're really talking a huge amount of money). Of course Tyson made a lot of poor decisions and has ended up broke, but Floyd still has time to make poor decisions in his life and end up destitute. He already has begun to show the hangers on and con****uous displays of wealth that became one element in Tyson's downfall. Maybe he will avoid it but in terms of earnings, I can't see him matching Tyson.

but when u look at it, its just like barry bonds, mucheal vick and floyd mayweather
Firstly I wouldn't put Mayweather in with those two. One guy runs an illegal dog fighting ring in his backyard, the other cheats his way into the history books... what has Floyd done to deserve being grouped with these two? Why don't you mention the successful black atheletes who have never been in trouble, never been linked to controversy, such as Tiger Woods or Michael Jordan?

I'm not going to disavow the existence of racism, but when we're talking about the super-rich you have to look for specific examples if you're trying to prove that "they" are trying to "keep a brotha down".

Im a fan of certain hip hop artist, but why is it that most hip hop artist are always flashing and throwing money in public? Its as if they never had anything in thier life, and now they dont know how to act. There are PLENTY of r&b, pop, rock, country, etc.....singers who have MILLIONS of dollars, yet you dont see them acting like fools.

By the way, this post is in reference to your avatar of Busta Rhymes holding a wad of cash.

Yes floyd is more succseful then tyson
idc wat age he won the title at but tyson never won 5 world titles...
and how can u call being in prison, gettin KO by buster douglas succesful??
that ***** tyson is BROKE! while my dude floyd BALLIN wit his money.. it tyson was in the audience he would of been running for floyds money in the pool!!! REAL TALK!!!! floyd way more succesful then mike.. SMH dont even compare them plz! i can keep going!.. ya oscar is a more popular boxer then floyd. and makes more money.. but floyd hasnt lost the big fight ever .. and oscar does that CONSTANTLY.. OSCAR can be federer but floyd djokavic he gunna over throw him eventually
                    [/QUOTED

During both thier primes, Tyson made much more money than Floyd did. Dont forget, Tyson was making 30+mil per fight during his peak. Granted he did blow his money away, but at the same time, Floyd is currently doing the same. If Floyd were to retire today, He would be broke within 10yrs with all his foolish spending ala Tyson.
