this is good news. david diaz can have his optional defense against the winner of diaz vs diaz if he s truly interested in unification. Juan Diaz will come out with all 4 straps and will have to fight the mandatory in Casamayor for the ring belt. this situation probably wont happen but it should.

Great news, can't wait for Cas to whoop Diaz and get the undisputed wbc championship. If Morales doesn't get his shot first.

Nobody's gonna beat Juan at lightweight right now.
Casamayor is past his prime and I don't think he stands a chance against Juan seriously.

still casamayor is the one and only true lightweight champion of the world. until Juan Diaz beats Casa, he is only a papper champ.

Paper champion? The boys 23 and has defended his belt a few times. I think he can run the lightweight division for a long long time to come. He can only get better in time and thats something he has in droves.

you guys are nuts. Juan isnt far above the other Lightweights as of yet, hell, his fight with Julio is definately not guarenteed, he has a very big chance of losing it if he doesnt continue to improve. He still has more than a few holes when it comes to fighting ability.

the real thing is that Juan has been looking better and better and improving fight by fight, you can tell. If he continues like that, he'll be kicking ass in that division. but I think that the Juan that fought Freitas would lose to Casamayor by a close decision.
