just take someone who is weak minded and make them become a boxing fan. problem solved.

its actually easier than you think. also, heres a good trick...show them a dvd recorded FOTY in high quality and pretend that its live. then theyll be amazed, and from there you can educate them. it has to be fairly recent though, a fighter they can relate to and is still fighting.

oh yea, and people LOVE slow motion. they dont really understand the signifigance of what happens in the ring because it happens so quick and is kind of far away and hard to notice for the very inexperienced, but make them look at slow motion stuff. theyll not take a second look at a knockout in regular time, but if they see someone up close and all the little details of what really happens when you get hit, theyll be FLABBERGASTED.

people also like backround stories behind boxers. like I had some relatives that were more or less not interested in Mayweather, but then i talked about how he owned a huge mansion, and a ton of cars, and was ****** rich, and had a huge pantry to keep all his food. and then i told them that huge kitchen was full of cheap ass Raman noodles, and they suddenly became interested about him and laughed.

set them up too. like get one person that knows some boxing and watch a fight with him and a person that doesnt watch boxing. people will try to like stuff to fit in, so that person will become interested in boxing just because two other guys are talking about it casually. and once they become interested...snowball effect, and after you get into boxing, youre hooked forever!

Man,Ive met a couple of guys from work that said they box and go to the gym,so me knowing that they are boxers I asked them what fights they where looking forward to,and they just didnt know what to say.I felt emberrased for them,I mean c'mon these are guy that box and go to the gym and they cant name me any good fights that are coming up?Man, and my cousins husband supposably "knows about boxing" and when I asked him about the upcoming Cotto/Mosley fight you know what he told me?He said "Cotto's incredible speed" was going to be to much for Mosley. And when I asked him what he thought about De Leon he said he doesn't have much power but he has very good thecnical skills.I was like w.t.f?It really is hard to find real boxing fans.

Invite friends over for Cotto/Mosley. Thats how you make boxing fans.

Or show them the fights between Marquez and Vazquez.

Yup best way to introduce them to the sport. Let them see it for themselves.

Be that as it may, it's pretty hard to concentrate on boxing with your T & A (Avatar/signature) in my face... It's very distracting! :wank:

yeah its hard to find die hard fans let alone fans that actually know something about boxing
few years back when i stayed in Richmond i used to talk to this older guy from d.c. about boxing he knew damn near everything. it was refreshing to talk to him about the sport because we both knew so much
thats why i come here, although it can be difficult to hold a civil discussion about boxing because we have some crazy fans in this forum

i dunno, it still gets pretty good talk in my area. i guess it's just the demographic. i did internship over at bellflower medical center (south los angeles county) and i ran into plenty of male staff who knew their boxing. surprising.

One of the first things I ask someone when I meet them, is if there into boxing, which is usually followed by a no. I've gotten so used to it. I've only met one person in my life who was into boxing at a job, and we were both sorta shocked to find each other talking as much as we both did about the sport. Why is it so hard to find boxing fans these days and is it just a sign of things to come?
                    Yeah, I've felt that frustration.

These people are living in ignorance.

I work with The Fight Network in Canada so I don't really have this problem. Outside of work there arnt many boxing fans around here. But I convinced my girls sister and her boyfriend who know nothing about boxing to come with us to NYC for Cotto vs Judah and they loved it. And now my good friend is coming with me to NYC for Cotto vs Mosley.
