So hard to find boxing fans in real life!

Don't you hate it when you go to your job or meet with friends and nobody is into boxing. I mean literally, outside of here, I can't talk boxing with anyone. One of the first things I ask someone when I meet them, is if there into boxing, which is usually followed by a no. I've gotten so used to it. I've only met one person in my life who was into boxing at a job, and we were both sorta shocked to find each other talking as much as we both did about the sport. Why is it so hard to find boxing fans these days and is it just a sign of things to come?

Because its not part of pop culture.

That is the case with anything...Not just boxing.....any sport, any genre of music, any activity, anything...

Thats why back in the day there were "clubs" were people with the same interestes would get together and chat...

Today we dont have clubs what we do have is forums like this one.

All you have to do is shadow box in public and you will find a fan, seriously someone will come up to you and be like "hey man do you box" you tell them "yes" and they will ask you opinions on some upcoming fights. Oddly enough it happens this way all the time.

Yes, well that was my point sorta. I mean you can find tons of people who will talk about football or baseball, within just about any job or place you go to. But boxing is so damn hard to find fans. We are so few and far apart. Scattered everywhere. Then you have your, yeah I watch the big events type of guy who doesn't really know jack **** about the sport, and the ones that are diehard and can talk for hours. Yet you can't find them anywhere.

I find it useless to try talking boxing with family members, uncles, cousins would be asking stuff like, "how come Tyson never fought Tito?"

I feel exactly the same way.and you know what I hate,is that when I ask people at work or that I meet if they watch boxing and they say yes I'm like damn finally I meet somebody I can talk boxing with and when I ask them what boxer do they like what do they say?Either Oscar,Tyson,Chavez,or Ali and.....thats about it.So I say ok maybe they like these greats but they also know about boxing and I start testing them and asking them about current boxers and not one person that I have met knows smack about boxing.Seriously I feel like a damn expert around everybody else.Like the only real fans of boxing are here on these forums.
