I agree with the thread starter.

1.) Mayweather isn't going to be punching enough to throw Hatton an "immense" beating.

2.) Gatti put little to no pressure on Mayweather, mostly just standing right in front of him like a clown. I doubt Hatton will make that same awful mistake.

3.) Gatti would have never beaten HAtton at any point in his career. It'd be a one sided fight in favor of Hatton.

4.) Hatton is more skilled than Gatti, even if he has a less attractive approach to fighting.

I mean, come on, they both are come-at-you fighters (Gatti learned to box only late in his career, once Buddy got there) with limited skills, and similar body types. They both are known for their body attack but Gatti was actually involved in (count them) FOUR Ring Magazine fight of the year fights, how many has Hatton been in?

In his prime, Gatti would beat Hatton, IMHO, and I'm expecting the same from Mayweather-Hatton that I expected (and we all saw) from Gatti-Mayweather.

All these are fine points but I would add accumulation of facial scar tissue to the list as well for similarities.

If you read the article "Mayweather-Hatton Top Stellar Boxing Year" you will read the comparisons there.
