Why are people comparing Hatton and Gatti?

Some people are really dumb, I see no comparisons at all, Hatton is a much better fighter with a good body attack, those who think Gatti and Hatton have similarities, please give me some of that stuff you have been smoking...

I still cant believe some of the posts I read here on boxingscene, but everyone is entitled to their opinion...even if its idiotic and insane.

Are you serious? You can't see any similarities at all? I mean, come on, they both are come-at-you fighters (Gatti learned to box only late in his career, once Buddy got there) with limited skills, and similar body types. They both are known for their body attack but Gatti was actually involved in (count them) FOUR Ring Magazine fight of the year fights, how many has Hatton been in?

In his prime, Gatti would beat Hatton, IMHO, and I'm expecting the same from Mayweather-Hatton that I expected (and we all saw) from Gatti-Mayweather.

It's because they are both brawlers but comparing them is just being plain ol ******. Hatton is 10x the boxer/fighter Gatti was... Man i'm really getting bored of these hatton/mayweather threads lol.. I don't i'll be able to last until fight night! All the hate grows and grows as each day gets closer to the December fight.

I'm not comparing them. Just the beating that I think Hatton will take will be similar to the one Mayweather dealt to Gatti. But they are both tough guys in the rings and have heart. So from that aspect they can be compared. But Gatti is much slicker than Hatton.

Hatton will get a brutal beating in front of his fans just like Gatti did. That's the similarity...

Gatti took a brutal beating from Floyd because Gatti (i dont know what he was thinking) tried to box Floyd. Not mention, Gatti's defense is total crap. He was blocking everything floyd was throwing with his face. Hatton will be relentless with his attack. He will smother floyd and not let him get comfortable. Im not saying that Hatton will win, but he definitely will not go out like gatti.

Nah I think the skill differential is too wide in this one. Hatton has never had to pressure someone like Mayweather for 12 rounds. He's gonna get fatigued. It's a lot easier to pressure Tysu and Castillo who don't use the ring nearly as much as Floyd. By the way who's the quickest opponent Hatton has faced?

The only similarity is the immense beating that Floyd gave them. Also it's just Gatti's come forward style, He will take a punch or two to give you one and that is the same way Hatton is.
