I like wlad klitschko and yes he is the top dog in the HW divison. but "You can take Valuev, Peter, Briggs, Toney, Holyfield and the rest of the lot and meld them into one - and you would still not find a current day heavyweight who could topple the towering Ukrainian" - is simply a very, very dumb statement!.....lol.....

Umm, that's a little off topic isn't it?

Agreed! Toney's skills, Holyfiled's heart, combined with the pyhsical tools of Peter would make a hell of a heavyweight for Kilitschko to fight.

The size of Valuev, the power and chin of Peter, the explosive puncing of Briggs, the amazing skill of James Toney, and the conditioning and heart of Holyfield mixed together to make one heavyweight...what have you created!!!! hahahahaha

dude seriously if you could do that, that heavyweight would kick everythings ass. if you look at it this way, this heavyweight division doesnt look half bad, haha!

Not only is boxing far from dead; it is experiencing a resurgence heralded by a series of high profile championship bouts that is attracting widespread public interest. One after another, including Jermain Taylor-Kelly Pavlik, Manny Pacquiao-Marco Antonio Barrera, Joe Calzaghe-Mikkel Kessler, Miguel Cotto-Shane Mosley, and the final card of the year will be punctuated by the Floyd Mayweather-Ricky Hatton December 8 super fight. These events will place boxing squarely on the front line, proving that the Sweet Science is undeniably a patient in full recovery!

Some of the finest matchmaking in over a decade has/is taking place in 2007. The record breaking Mayweather-De La Hoya May 5 bonanza, which was extraordinarily publicized and heralded by a nationwide tour, put boxing back in the spotlight. For the first time in years, boxing became front page news and talk show fodder in the key media centers throughout the nation. The upcoming series of talent studded bouts, particularly the unification showdown with Calzaghe taking on the formidable Kessler and the emerging superstar Cotto battling the still dangerous veteran in Mosley, are fodder for long debates over which fighter will prevail. I agree. For Boxing to get **** on in 2007 is an innacuracy. Categorically.

If people aren't interested in Boxing, here and now, it's not because Boxing isn't doing it's damn job! This is a HELLUVA year to be a Boxing fan.

              Article comparing Gatti to Hatton

Not even in his prime was Gatti as good as Hatton. So, no comparison there. Hatton is a much more polished fighter and a much more accurate puncher than Gatti ever was. Mayweather couldn't even knock Gatti out, so his punching power is out the window. So punishing Hatton ain't happening. Hatton is a great counter puncher and will bully Mayweather even given the height differential. He will punch him hard to the body and grab Mayweather before he gets on his skates and run, and punish him again. My prediction Hatton by decision and leave Mayweather holding all parts of his body in pain. Like Trinidad did to Reid. Case closed.
