    De La Hoya vs. Pavlik

    Or their last wins anyway.

Why is it that everyone laughed and said business as usual when De La Hoya knocked out Ricardo Mayorga but when Pavlik knocked out Miranda, everyone started to think that Jermain Taylor's days as champion were numbered.

Can anyone point out any significant difference between Mayorga and Miranda (other than the fact that Miranda can't talk **** like Mayorga)?

They are both no skill boxers who can punch holes in people if they land clean, so why does De La Hoya get no credit for his win and Pavlik gets way too much credit for his win?

    Any thoughts?

I always say the same exact thing. The problem is that these people have seen Mayorga lose before but havent seen Miranda lose. They can try to boost Miranda up all they want but I said right after the fight that he's a black Mayorga and nothing more

because you are ******??? or because miranda stopped eastman , destroyed gibbs ; gave allan green a beating , and broke abrahams jaw (a fight he won and should be champion).?? maybe thats why people were on his nuts and still are !!!! . mayorga has like what 5 losses before he fought with delahoya??? its pretty opbvious miranda had weight problems.

Bad fight for the Golden boy, Would never happen. You have to remember delahoya started at 130, Pavlik Is peaking right now, guy can take a punch and never stops comming.

Pavlik would Proabably Ko Delahoya in the later round, Delahoya's biggest flaw is he loses steam after the 9th round.

De La Hoya would get KO'd walking to the ring on a liver shot from a fan giving him a hi five.

              'oooh my liver'

Not just that, but Oscar already was a star and it was expected for him to beat mayorga, whereas Pavlik turnwed out to be a little better than people expected. I for one was worried about whether he could take the punches he did.

But the Taylor issue is yet different. Most don't rate Taylor very highly. It's not that people think Pavlik is so wonderful but that Taylor is ripe to get knocked out.

Thanks for the insult, always makes discussion go better.

Let me get this straight... Howard Eastman, Willie Gibbs, Allan Green and Arthur Abraham. Very good list of young fighters. Do any of them have the credentials Vernon Forrest has?

At the point when ODLH fought Mayorga, Mayorga had 3 losses in his first 11 fights, which no one mentions, like Margarito's first 3... he was like 16 fighting for food in Nicaragua.

He next got outboxed by Cory Spinks... a stylistic nightmare for Mayorga.

Finally, he jumped from 147 to 160 for a fight with FELIX TRINIDAD.

What makes Miranda's resume better than Mayorga? Because Vernon Forrest was #4 P4P when he knocked him out. Who has Miranda beaten that can measure up to that?
