"WHO'S THE REAL CHAMP?" - will always be a question now...even if The Ring or ESPN or HBO or Showtime makes it a point to tell us how the "Boxing public" feels...
Hopkins never got stripped, because he always fought his mandatories.

Calzaghe vacated the IBF belt that he won from Jeff Lacy, so it's only for 3 of the sanctioning body belts and The Ring belt.

You are right about Taylor though, he has lost 2 of the 4 belts already.

Taylor got stripped by one of them for rematching Hopkins and another for fighting Winky

didn't know about Joe vacating the IBF.

That's kind of what I mean though - how can the "IBF CHAMP" really think they're the champion of anything? Doesn't that tarnish winning a belt - when the guy who used to have it is still active and undefeated?

I agree, it is up there with the WBA regular championship right now (Anthony Mundine).

There was some sort of alphabet soup in the old days, but it has taken on a new level in the past decade or so.

            It's gotten beyond ridiculous.

The Ring has the right idea, although its policy and ratings are flawed too.
