Can a WORLD Title ever mean anything again?

Does anyone think that a WORLD Title could ever truly mean WORLD ever again. It seems every year there is a new organisation popping up, I mean how many do we have now? WBC,WBA,IBF,WBO,WBU,WBF should be WTF (What the ****),IBO and so on. Where is it all gonna end? Is there anything that can be done to get rid of the lot of them and form just one organisation and go back to the good old days where everyone knew who the champ was in each division. (Of course I'm being ******, because of the money to be made just because of the Title tag) Boxing was and still is the greatest sport in the world, but these organisations are making a laughing stock out of the game we love and out of us. I know it's never gonna go back to the good old day's, but I wish it could. Sometimes I just sit and think of how it could be possibly done, if anyone has any ideas on this let me know. Maybe we should find some stinking rich billionaire and see if they could buy out all of these corrupt organisations and make the fight game respectful again. That's the only trouble with boxing there has always been corruptness along the line somewhere in some shape or form

If certain top fighters would stop jumping around weight classes and stay where they belong that would help.

I think a unified champ means more now than being "champ" did 'back in the day.'

"The Ring" championship is where it's at.

Tarver and Glen Johnson said **** their sanctioning body belts by allowing them to be stripped when they dodged their mandatories to fight each other for The Ring belt.

No one thought they were less of a champion because they didn't have the IBF, WBA, WBC or WBO belts.

i agree, but a true champ have too face mandatorys too, because when al the stars are always searching the super fights, the others can never get their shot a the title

            yeah i agree with that.
These money grubbing, baised orginizations have severly tarnished the concept of being a world champion.

I think the sanctioning belts are stepping stones to The Ring belt. Who the **** was Winky Wright back in the day? Pretty much no one, and then he started collecting alphabet belts. Now he's on the top of the world, and he is the one who gets to dictates what fights are made.

Right, but the problem is not the champions, its the orginizations, for forcing their champions to fight crappy fighters who dont deserve a shot.
The orginizations are working against each other, and its ruining boxing.
We need one unified sanctioning body, and a comissioner in order for things to change.

I think we need to get rid of these sanctioning bodies, theres corruptness running through the game, also the likes of Don King need to be got rid of as well.

Winning an alphabet title is just some garnish to make your ring entrance look better. Even when someone grabs all 4 belts, like Hopkins then Taylor did - and the Kessler/Calzaghe winner will - one of the "Big 4" strips the real champ shortly thereafter.

"WHO'S THE REAL CHAMP?" - will always be a question now...even if The Ring or ESPN or HBO or Showtime makes it a point to tell us how the "Boxing public" feels...
