I agree with you on that one. I give hatton more of an edge than dlh because of that. If oscar hadn't got tired he probably would have won.

de la hoya is bigger, stronger, hits harder, better boxer, and not to mention de la hoya/ hatton wouldnt go 6 rounds, de la hoya would give him a brutal savage beating ala julio chavez.

only thing hatton brings to the table is quicker feet and rough house tactics.

SO PUT YOUR EMOTIONS ASIDE AND LETS DEAL WITH FACT! WHAT DOES HATTON BRING TO THE TABLE THAT DE LA HOYA, JUDAH, BALDOMIR, GATTI, DOSENT?
To beat PBF, you need to push him back and pressure him from first round. DLH is not a good pressure fighter, he's very good against pressure fighters thou.

Relentlessness, work rate, youth, exuberance, and he's a very live underdog, watch out!

                  better body attack
roughhouse tactics (one of the dirtiest fighter in the sport) - if you hit him low, he'll hit you back
                  quicker feet and better footwork
                  stamina
                  younger and fresher then delahoya
hungrier...isn't a multi multi millionaire like delahoya
inside fighter and throws more volume of punches and a different assortment

De La Hoya's gameplan was to fight like Hatton does. To smother, and outthrow and to go to the body and to bully him on the ropes. He couldn't pull it off and had his most success behind the jab fighting like Oscar. Like it or not Floyd is the top dog and anyone facing him has to fight their own fight or they're going to lose. Floyd is very good and as a result he hurts his opponents, confuses them and basically removes any gameplan they might have, reducing them to falling back on their netural style. The best way to beat Floyd is to rough him up, throw lots of punches and keep fighting. When Hatton gets hurt he falls back on his natural style which just happens to be the gameplan to defeat Floyd.
