This could be the dumbest topic on here, but...

I have been racking my brain for a month or so now to figure out if a fight such as this would even be competitive. Say a super slick boxer with great foot and hand speed were put in against a fringe heavyweight (26-10 record or something like that). Say the heavyweight doesn't have great boxing skills, strictly a ****er who hits pretty hard, but isn't very fast. Could someone like Spinks or Mayweather be able to jab and move for 12 rounds without being caught? Obviously their punches wouldn't do **** to the heavyweight, so they would constantly be having to (literally) run to get out of there, but if they were able to slip punches every so often, they could score with body shots.

I'm sure quite a few people are going to call me ****ing ******ed for even asking a question such as this, but it's been on my mind. Does anyone agree that it is possible, or am I kidding myself?

In a sport where the restriction is limited to punching! Bigger guys have a huge advantage. I've seen 20 pound difference b4 but HW would be way to much for PBF and Spinks. The pressure alone would discourage them. The HW don't even have to find a target all they need to do is make sure it lands anywhere on them. My Opinion: I believe that size does not matter when it comes to using every part of your body in a fight. There is no advantages or disadvantages in a street fight. BTW nah you post isn't ******! I've posted much more crazy **** b4

there defense wont stand against HW punch because even if they block the punch they would be moved back or even knowdown.

that is why if anybody from lowerweightclass goes to middleweighclass get high reconigtion as well as people from middleweight going HW too.

another aspect that you didnt mention is the conditioning and speed issue which play a major factor just look at Vargas and James Toney at 200 pound

Good question, and the answer is yes, the super slick boxer can win for sure, using 12 rounds of footwork, espcially a guy like spinks, who 'runs' like the wind.

i think against the proper heavyweight, yeah a slick boxer would survive but i dont know if he would risk punching at all, it would look like a classic spinks fight....
