I don't really care for MMA; I've always favored boxing. There is something about boxing to me that seems classic. IMO, I feel it's more challenging to systematically break down/knock someone out using your hands exclusively as opposed to having the use of your entire arm, legs, etc. to take someone out or the ability to kick someone when they're down to weaken them. Boxing gives you the 10 count which doesn't allow a fighter to take advantage of a downed opponent. If anything, it makes it harder for a fighter because the opponent can recompse himself with the ability to get back into an equal fighting position.
I give credit to MMA fighters because I certainly don't have the balls to do what they do but, again imo, there is something more honorable to straight duking it out with someone. I feel it takes more effort to finish a fight that way.

To me it's for guys who have ground skills like wrestling jiu jitsu, etc. But when they stand up it's like a tough man contest.
