Oscar couldn't land the left which is why he didn't throw it. Its the samething Pernell Whitaker did to Chavez's left hook. After your opponent blocks and counters your favorite punch after a while you will get discouraged from throwing it.
I see that you saw the fight very similar to how I saw the fight. I truly feel if that one judge didn't score the fight for Oscar you wouldn't have as many people talking about how close the fight was or how Oscar really should have won and **** like that.

oscar is still a very good boxer in my oppinion and i belive he can still beat some of the name boxers in 147 but i don't think he can beat floyd he is to good and to smart and neutrilized the left hook threw out the whole fight and never really gave oscar oppertunities to counter anything

I went to Las Vegas to see that fight and when they announced that card for De la Hoya first all I thought was Whitaker vs. Chavez.

Althought Floyd landed some impressive shots. They came a little later when Oscar tired. But I think if DLH fought anyone else that night he would have come out victorious. I know this is way to late. But so what.

And I think it showed me he's closer to his prime than he is to being shot.
              I agree.
              Good assesment.
DLH showed he still has it.

Hell yeah he impressed me. He came up a bit short when it seemed within reach, and as always he's a bit heartbreaking. But his defense was good, he had a good gameplan and parts of the fught he was clearly winning. The problem is Mayweather eventually neutralized him, and also he never even bothered to throw a hook upstairs, so he's without his best weapon against Mayweather.

I agree with the above, he'd have beaten anyone else that night

Am I on crack or is everybody else here delusional? I'm the biggest Mayweather fan there is, but Oscar looked like **** that night. Part of it was because of Floyd, but Oscar's just a shade of his former self. He could NOT get to Floyd without getting tagged, his jab was NOT landing effectively (despite what EVERYONE IN THE WORLD seems to think), and the flurries were LAUGHABLE. In fact, Floyd DID laugh at them. Whenever Oscar got close to Floyd, he'd throw silly left "hooks" that looked more like he was trying to scratch Floyd than punch him. My friends and I were all laughing when we saw this, including the Oscar fans. He was not effective in any way in this fight, and looked the worst I've ever seen him.

Yeah but you had it 120-108, most reasonable people had it 116-112 or 115-113. Some maybe 117-11 but that's not a legit score, that's probably being overimpressed by certain things that are fringe elements of boxing. One official jusge and about 30-40% of the general public, including Floyd's daddy, had it for Oscar. I thought Floyd edged it

                    Yes, it's you

man here we go again, IMO mayweather didn't do ****, the rounds he won was because he made dlh miss, and landed single shots.....and that's how we beat a champ....
