if it's like that then floyd has no reason to fight hatton as he is alot of notches above ricky
Not really. Ricky is a multi-weight champion, linear champ at 140 lbs and is rated in the top ten pound for pound by most serious commentators. Floyd has the sort of record that could make him a future legend, and it is considerably better than Hatton's but Hatton is still very highly rated.

Witter is now rated second behind Ricky at 140 lbs by the Ring but that is only since Hatton beat Castillo (who was rated second at the time). As we all know right after that fight the talk began of a showdown with Mayweather, so how is Witter going to get a look-in now? Hatton is far beyond vying for titles now, he's making superfights. Witter's best chance at a shot at Hatton was when he was the Lonsdale champ and Ricky had the WBU, but Ricky was looking at the top ten light-welters, not at the British beltholder.

didn't Vivian Harris getting Ko'd by Maussa **** up a potential Harris-Hatton show down?

Witter has got to get by Harris Next weekend before he can even think about fighting Hatton

its annoying, cuz Witter, Hatton, Malignaggi ... either of those potential fights are hypotheticals right now.

but I would think we'll see Malignaggi -Witter or even Kendall Holt (if he beats Torres) vs either Paulie or Witter. before we see one of the 140 pound titlists going for Hatton.

I doubt we'll ever see a Hatton-Witter match so it looks like Paulie might get a chance at unification.
I've heard the exact same thing as well... no one hold their breath for this fight.

What difference does it make? Hatton is British ergo most of his opponents are British. Witter's whining became the most volumble when Ricky was a national talent and was fighting European opponents.

                    its very simple. $$$

Malignaggi, and Witter, the 2 biggest names at 140 (not counting you know who)

don't bring as much legacy and money as a fight with Floyd Mayweather does.

in fact minus Hatton, nobody at 140 is really in high demand, so the champions (Paulie, Witter, and hopefully Holt come Saturday .. should take it upon themselves to unify)

*like if Witter gets by Harris, he should go for the WBA titlist.

and if there's a unified 140 pound champion (hopefully it will happen relatively soon) .. he (the undisputed 140 champ) would be in higher demand, and have more of an argument to face Hatton

By the way Harris wanted nothing to do with Hatton until the Tszyu fight and then he went and got his ass knocked cold by Carlos Maussa...
