our version of american football. btw erm these guys range form 5 foot 10 to 6 foot 8 ish. all about 13 stones to 20 stones. range in wait due to some for speed and some for power and some to tackle. oh and they play for 40 mins and then 15 min break and then 40 mins. a player rarely gets substituted at all unless injured. tough ***ers

the guys tackling are about 20 stones. 12 stones is about 168 pounds so erm work it out lol

american football as a number 1 sport in how many countries?

football (soccer) is played but so many countries as the national sport.

we dont give a *** about 100 ad breaks. we dont give a *** about armour in a sport. being an athelete is about the body and if you need armour and helmet to protect yourself then its not about the body anymore. they are on steroids and can only run fast and are storng but need to be protected lol.

heard of rugby? try that and do it for 40 mins 10 min break and then 40 mins rather than all this bull**** swap team ****.

as for baseball world series? *** that no one cares about it across the world apart form japan, and thats why its called the world series cuz theres like one legue in the world lol.

      superbowl = super advert breaks

All fair play; I don't know why my compatriots want to have their own sports, I guess it's easier to be world champ that way.

But basketball has caught on and is huge all over the world. We haven't even won a competition in seven years.

American football is a beautiful game, but too local and too complicated for foreigners to catch onto. I don't understand this "the best athletes are in the NFL" horse****. It's guys doing very specialized tasks. The best athletes in the world are footballers, they're playing the sport that every race and nation in the world play, if you make it to the top of that you've done something.

i agree that basketball is a top sport. many countries play it across the world from rich to poor. you have to be very fit to play it because i have. although in the uk we dont fully understand the change over of players. well me anyway so im playing as long as the game is for and its very tough. i play football for 3 hours solid and its kept me very fit ^^ we dont have half tiems etc like professionals lol we just love the sport.

Latin America doesn't exist? I'm not really even a fan of Baseball, but its not just the US and Japan.

And if you really watched and gave American football a chance then you would know that the protection gives just as many injuries as it prevents. Helmets allow you to play with reckless abandon. That means run into your opponent with full speed and lay your head into him. That helmet turns into a weapon, so the protection excuse is really overblown.

The Super Bowl has turned into a bit of a joke. Every true football fan knows the best games of the season are usually the championship games before the Super Bowl. The Patriots/Colts game last year was a classic, and the Super Bowl was a dud.

I'm surprised no one mentioned DLH in this almost famous thread.

David ****ham should go back to England, Mayweather should go with him and start toting around British flags.

And as far as soccer being more popular than boxing, I highly doubt that. More people show up to WNBA games than go to soccer games...

Because they knows MLS is ****e but he played in EPL and LA Liga so he was once good enough to sell shirts in them leagues, but still **** and fell short in the end. PBF is more famous now after he beat fatty and went into WWE. People would love boxing more if you had more throwback fighters or semi throwbacks like PBF.

I think this thread is turning into another World vs US conversation but I’ll try to answer the question. I don’t think anyone can honestly answer the question because beckham has not been here that long and it depends on what region of the country you’re from. Where I’m from its Floyd by far.

Beckham is known more in the US for things unrelated to soccer than to it. Definitely Beckham.
