    this is the bottom line

a guy who has been knocked out by a journeyman and just lost every minute of every round in his last fight does not deserve a front page interview/article on this site. i wont even read it, why should i? curtis stevens is not one of the top 150 fighters in the world and he doesent deserve the recognition just cause he is the interview that can be easily gotten.

id like to hear what andre dirrell has to say about the fight instead of reading about this poser stevens talking trash about the guy who embarassed him.

dirrell was bull**** but i do want to see him again. if he fights like that again im done with him but you cant blame him for not taking chances when he was winning every single round quite clearly.

I feel a fighter who is winning so dominantly needs to push the issue and clearly seperate himself from his adversary. Sugar Ray Robinson would never be dominating a fighter like that and let him hang around. The greats know how to finish their man off.

That said, Curtis Stevens is a very interesting and complex person. My conversations with him have typically been much different from this one. Usually, he speaks in a half-rap staccato ala Roy Jones only in a New Yorkish theme. Stevens was more subdued and bitter and business as usual, which I felt was indicative of where he is in his career right now.

Nonetheless, I get the story out there and I tend to like interviewing recent losers. I guess it has to do with my enfatuation with the writings of Jack Newfield, whom I hold in the highest regards.
