Mayweathers weakspot is his body, where Castillo did land some cleans shots on Mayweather. And Mayweather took them well, I call it his weakspot because it's the only spot to really slow down a boxer who relies on his speed. If Hatton's not able to land to the body, then he loses.
Who has more power at 147 Mayweather or Collazo?

The problem for Hatton is how he will handle the hard stuff coming back upstairs while he tries to put in early bodywork on Floyd.Mayweathers weakspot is his body, where Castillo did land some cleans shots on Mayweather. The counterpunching is what discourages all of Mayweather's opponents.
If Hatton can gobble/slip the right hands and left hooks from Floyd, then Ricky will do well. If he doesn't have a way to handle that, and he doesn't adapt as Floyd makes adjustments, then Ricky gets stopped in the middle rounds.Comment

One thing is clear, the Mayweather Hatton is fighting is not the same one Castillo fought. Mayweather has gotten better since his fights with Castillo. Mayweathers been in the ring with Castillo, Judah, De la Hoya, Corrales. Mayweather has the experience and Hatton doesn't. Hatton beat an old Castillo, and if you look on the forums I posted before the hatton fight saying hatton would destroy Castillo because Castillo is shot. And Hatton didn't fight the best tsyzu, it's nice to have those big names on Hattons resume. But Hatton's never fought as someone as fast as Mayweather. Speed kills, just ask Jeff lacy...
Calzaghes picking Mayweather to win. I'm still undecided kind of...Last edited by EliteSoldier; 08-29-2007, 01:08 AM.Comment

Mayweather,he still had some of his power in the DLH fight,i dont consider Luis a power puncher, hes only got 13 KOs,hes just the naturaly bigger man,but not the harder puncherComment

i think they both have about the same power but collazo may have slightly moreRewatching the Collazo vs. Hatton fight was one punch from being done. It got me thinking many say there is no chance for a Floyd KO. I know Hatton is as tough as nails. And he's not going down on one punch but that wasn't the problem with Collazo. It was that he was being countered so frequently with good accuracy.
Now Collazo was very tired and therefore he allowed Hatton to survive the rest round. I don't think Floyd gets too tired for the most part his speed and movement consistent for twelve rounds.
So my question is who has more power out of Floyd and Collazo? I'm trying to finalize my prediction for the fight.Comment

I would suggest that Collazo has better power than Mayweather. He is bigger and taller so he can get more leverage on his punches. Collazo doesn't lack power but he is not a good finisher. Punch for punch Collazo hits harder but Floyd, when he wans to be, is a better finisher.Comment

If Collazo BOTH has better power AND is a better finisher, please explain why his KO % is so low against inferior competition.I would suggest that Collazo has better power than Mayweather. Punch for punch Collazo hits harder but Floyd, when he wans to be, is a better finisher.
Roy Jones and MAB say that speed is power. If used right.
Also, Sharmba said that PBF has good power at 147.Comment

Yeah but I was showing the vid to show you that Floyd can put something on his punches. And the vid was also to show his accuracy. Also this fight will show whether Hatton and Cotto can answer back to those that counter them and fight back. Becuase a majority of the time their opponents can never find a solution to the pressure and end up being physically broken down. With Shane and Mayweather these are upper level fighters who are much different than anything either fighter has faced.Comment

That is an excellent point I forgot all about his hand problems.Mayweather / Collazo would have been very similar to Mayweather / Judah, while Hatton struggled...
But that does not mean anything...
Also what a lot of you ARE NOT taking into consideration is that Mayweather has a problem with his hands and could probably hit harder than he is but he is just too cautious with his hands.
You see, I'm not just a hater (I'm not a hater at all) I'm an objective thinkerComment
