really, he may have ended up getting his ass beat against Trinidad and De La Hoya, but these guys are TRINIDAD AND DE LA HOYA. And he even put good fights up against them, not so much De La Hoya, but he was put on one hell of a show against Trinidad.

His wins over Andrew Lewis and Vernon Forrest speak for themself, and also he beat this Piccoli fellow, who did get a win over Cory Spinks, although I have no idea about that Spinks-Pickleman fight.

honestly, Mayorga ****s around a lot, but I think he trains much more than he lets on. Have you ever seen him big and fat and out of shape? I aint, at least...
plus, this is a wake up call for you, of course him smoking at the press conference was a rude gesture to Vargas. He had always been saying all along how hes coming up in weight to fight 'fatty' and everything, the whole point was just to piss Vargas off. Honestly, I think he comes up with good ****. I really dont get whats not to like about him
Boxing is what it is because of fighters like Mayorga, we need excitement!

I don't think you guys give this guy credit. For him it's not that he doesn't care about boxing but it's about pride. Yes pride that he can knock someone out. He doesn't respect Vargas and that is what he is saying. It's all about mental games before fight night anyways and that is what he does. He did it with Tito, ODLH, and now Vargas.

But it is his training regien and discpline. He thinks that he could go around with his chin and power to beat his oppenet easly but he smokes and drinks. That is more insulting to the oppenet than even trash talking about his mother, because you dont respect the oppennet power.

See in the Vargas interview he was smoking as if saying you are not worth even for me to train.

You are what you trained to do and if Mayorga doesnt take his even chin go down and even power fad away e****ally if you dont train.
i think the bigger insult to the sport of boxing is vargas weighing 250 pounds in january....

The Same thing could be said about Tyson in the second half of his career. I like watching Mayorga, he's a bit of fun and makes for crowd pleasing fights.

I agree Mayroga go alot of natural power that is pretty rare breed of fight that you dont see someone like Mayorga.

But Mayorga could have dont better with career if he learned to jab abit and condition himself he would have KOed many top oppenet as well as Tito and Spinks

This thread kind of makes me think that if mayorga had trained his ass off and had some good boxing skill he could be a second coming of Duran.................NAHHHHH.
