I believe that was FMJ's intent. Thus, effective.

What other way would YOU gauge it?
Yep it made DLH lose his rag a bit at a press conference. But did it help PBF when DLH got in the ring with him?

If i spoke **** to DLHs face DLH might want to beat me up as well and would say i got under his skin, but why does that make Pbf EFFECTIVE, when i could do it as well probably if i wanted to.
What i am saying it doesnt seem like a hard thing to do, or something to be proud of. But just that PBF seems more willing to do it than anyone else. Although lots of boxers trash talk at press confereces and suprise suprise there are lots of scraps at press conferences, with boxers gettin under each others skins. So theres lots of effective trash talkers out there if you care to look.

What DLH should have said is: "Don't do what I did during my fight with Floyd, you'll spend the rest of your life wonder what if". Shut up DLH, stick to counting Money & acting, your the last fighter to be giving advise on dealing with Mayweather. Most (not everything) of what Floyd said wasn't too far from the truth in the press tour.

De La Hoya lost a split decision to Mayweather in May and is the promoter of December's multimillion-pound showdown between Hatton and Mayweather.

"I've been in some really big fights but even I had to bite my tongue when Floyd starting talking," said De La Hoya.

"Floyd is the world's best trash talker and it's very hard to ignore him when he starts.

"He likes to get right in his opponents' faces and insult them - it's part of his tactics.

"We went on a tour of various cities for our fight and I was close to losing my cool several times."

During press conferences in New York and Los Angeles Mayweather accused De La Hoya of being an "old man", a "*****" and of "fighting like a girl". There were several flashpoints and De La Hoya's promotional partner Bernard Hopkins had to step between them many times.

De La Hoya added: "I know Ricky has a good sense of humour and he will need it when Floyd opens up.

"He never stops and he just keeps on and on with the same insults.

"It's like he is in a trance. It was a relief to finally get in the ring and get the fight on."

The British leg of the six-city tour to promote the December showdown will include an open session with the public and the press in both Manchester and London.

Mayweather said: "I'm gonna love being in front of all Hatton's fans and telling them that their man is going to get his arse kicked. I'm hearing that Hatton is not a confrontational type of guy. Well, I've got some shock news for him - he's in the wrong business!

"Right now Hatton is in the Mayweather business, and that is all about confrontation."

Hatton, meanwhile, has laughed off suggestions that Mayweather's insults and verbal assaults will upset his preparation.

He said: "I've heard big mouths talk before and if he starts to annoy me I'll put some earplugs in."
I thought Oscar likes it when people get under his skin...

Isn't that what he said all through the promotion for the Mayorga fight?

Isn't that why he said he chose Mayorga?

Anyways, I don't think it makes much difference for Ricky.

Mayweather should worry about what Hatton has to say.

        He has met his match.

,,,and what Hatton has to say is....

"He's got amazing skills," Hatton admitted. "He's pound-for-pound the best in the world, he's great to watch, skillful, lightning fast, I always watch his fights."

I completely agree with your thoughts on MTV. I need to state that I very seldom watch VH1, I can't even recall when I last viewed VH1 but... Why is VH1 so terrible?

                .
So when Floyd clearly attacks a fighter, trainer or other key figure in the sport on radio, in print or person.........nobody should point that out because they're not qualified to?

These days their netowkr consists of nothing but "Celebreality" shows. They take B and C rated, washed up hasbeen celebrities and give them their own shows. Flavor Flav, Bret Michaels, Scott Baio, basically guy's who haven't seen work since the late 80's or early 90's.

Alright, thanks for the info. Obviously I have not watche VH1 in a really long time. Wow. Last time I watched for a bit, the music on VH1 was much closer to what I like than MTV could ever even hope to be, so I was judging purely on that factor.

i don't think that hatton will have any problems with floyds amateurish trash talk, hatton has way more wit and is more articulate with his come backs and trash talk then floyds.

floyd reminds me of one of those guys who can't bag on anyone to save his life, all he can do is say *****, and sissy type things, while there are others who can bag on dudes all day like they were D.L. Hugely or Don Rickles, floyd doesn't have the wit, he just acts like a spoiled little kid, which gets annoying.

at least floyd could break out some yo mama jokes or something to bag on hatton.
