For as much as I don't like Brock's style and his pathetic footwork, he does come to fight and was more effective against Wlad than Byrd and Brewster. Brock had his trouble against Lawrence until Zuri stepped back into Brock's punching space. Brock also fought some former cruiserweight in his last fight on the Briggs/Ibragimov undercard and was knocked down (due to bad footwork and bad balance). The other guy fought hard and had Brock legitmately in trouble at one point and gave the former Olympian a lot of trouble. Chambers is fathoms above that cat in skill and will give Brock fits. Povetkin should plain outwork Byrd and take the victory that way. I also see Povetkin/Chambers as a great chess match and I cant wait for it. Wlad would have trouble only with Povetkin, but stranger things have happened before.

The only of the 4 major organizations to rank Thompson is the WBO (he's #4).

He must not be paying his fees to the others. There are a lot of fighters in the same situation. It makes for some bad looking "top lists". WBA has easily the worst list. Mike Mollo at #7? Kali Meehan at 12? TOS at 5? And I must admit I've never even heard of their #4 - Taras *****ko - looked him up and he's 23-2 with losses to Virchis and Valuev, but the only names I recognize on his win record are Julius Francis and Fabio Moli who I know from them being punching bags for Tyson and Klitschko...

3 fights ago, *****ko fought an 8-rounder. And 5 fights ago he fought a guy who had only 9 pro bouts...

Tony Thompson has found a niche with the WBO and thats why he is rated high with them and been in eliminators with the WBO so the WBC refuses to rate him. As for Taras *****ko, the kid has some skills, his loss to Valuev was close and it was is 4th career fight I believe and he was schooling Virchis when he got dumb and stood in front of the hardest puncher in the heavyweight division and was floored by Virchis twice. There are several fighters who should fight in this tourney, or other tourneys for the other sanctioning bodies' belts.

I am thinking if the Eventual winner of this is Brock Or Byrd.. seriously.. what Can either of these guys do differently this time wont yeild the same result??
Especialy In Byrds case... I mean those have to be 19 of the most 1 sided rounds I have ever seen.. I am surprised they are willing to TRY again..

Povetkin is just Hype and Isn't any better than Brock.. he does everything Good.. and nothing exceptionaly.

            Thompson is the wild card..

Thompson I could see as a future WBO champ beating Sultan. (Everyone knows what I'm implying) I don't see him doing much else, back to the tournie Byrd I think is gonna lose because he really has nothing to gain from winning and he's fighting a fighter who has alot to prove and will come in with a purpose. This tournie is alot more exciting and interesting then the WBA's. The best fight won't be the fight with Klitschko but the semi-finals fight Povetkin vs. Chambers (hopefully) will be very enertaining. A question I haven't had answered is who is Virchis going to fight next? I see him high up with the WBC but they have their eyes on Vitali, is he going to fight Wlad before Wlad fights the winner of this tournie?

So what we should have, hopefully, is Povetkin vs Wlad. Curious as to where Vitali fits in in this.
I imagine, if Wlad loses, Vitali will take him on

Ugh. Great Wlad is gonna fight another bum or someone he already beat. Have him fight the winner of Iggy/Holyfield or Peter/Maskaev (if that fight is still on even)

Welter I almost started to cry when I saw that you think Povetkin is all hype. My man seriously I need to send you some tape. Povetkin in my mind has the best chance here, but his lack of professional experience will be a bigger deficit to him than his average defense due to him being the biggest puncher in this tourney. And a sidenote, cong**** to Michael Hunter for being the Super Heavyweight Olympian for the U.S. The field is up for grabs in 08' with Cammarelle getting older and paying more attention to his job (law enforcement) and Timourziev still hasn't completly come back to form for RUssia since defeating cancer. Hunter only has roughly 20 bouts (21 I believe but am not sure) but he has skill and natural ability and I like him a lot more than I ever did Estrada
