Ponce De Leon-Penalosa Rematch on Dec. 8?

The Visayan Daily Star is reporting that a possible rematch between WBO super bantamweight champion Daniel Ponce De Leon (32-1, 29KOs) and WBO bantamweight champ Gerry Penalosa (56-6-2, 35KOs) may take place on the undercard to Floyd Mayweather Jr-Ricky Hatton on Dec. 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. I heard the first one was a pretty good fight... hopefully the undercard of this Mayweather fight won't be as disappointing as the undercard of "The World Awaits."

Stacking up to be a nice PPV, but I think De Leon will murder Penalosa this time around. I know Penalosa is coming off a hyped knockout over Gonzalez but you also have to remember two very important things. 1.) Gonzalez had previously stated that making that weight was "killing him". 2.) Gonzalez was owning Penalosa the entire fight until the bodyshot.

They dropped the ball with the last undercard. This will probably be the second biggest fight of the year as far as overall advertising and promotion. It would be a smart thing to put some of the Welterweights on the undercard. Penalosa/De Leon sounds like a good third fight though.

My loyalty is to the truth, I love fighters of all backgrounds. I can't honestly see how someone would pick Penalosa at this stage of his career, to defeat a budding monster in Ponce De Leon. When De Leon caught Bautista, my legs buckled.

This'll be a nice undercard fight for the PPV main event, but I think Ponce de Leon will be too much for the smaller Penalosa this time. PDL will train like crazy for this fight and will be aiming for the KO to make up for the first fight.

I'm sure Penalosa and Freddie Roach will work on a plan that'll make the fight interesting for a few rounds, but I think unlike the first time, Ponce de Leon WILL land his power shots and put Penalosa to sleep.

Let's get this rematch out of the way so PDL can go and try to avenge his only loss with a title unification rematch with Caballero!

Caballero will get eaten alive by Ponce De Leon, he lacks the talent needed to keep a pressure fighter like De Leon off of him for more than 3 rounds. And Caballero is very unsteady on his feet and that's not good in combination with Ponce De Leon's power.

I was in much more pain watching the Penalosa body shot... my god that was a brutal shot. But you are totally right, Gonzalez was in control of that fight, period.

Who is the welterweight undercard? Is it Cintron-Feliciano, or is that on the Mayorga-Vargas undercard... I can't keep this **** straight.
